Here's a simple hack to hit your driver like this. I see four to many golfers setting up to their driver just like they would with the iron, standing far too close to the golf ball, the feet too close together and no shoulder tilt like this. Instead we need to make a change because this club is longer and it's designed to go further straight away, we need to stand further away from the ball. The best way to gauge the correct distance away from the ball is popular club straight out in front and just bend. From your hips. So where that club lays flat on the ground is where the ball needs to be. If I'm still too close, my hands are going to fall against my leg. And if I'm still too far away, I'm going to have this big separation between my hands and my body. So we just want to feel the hands hang under our nose. For our driver ball position forward, So placing our feet together, taking half a step forward and three steps back and taking my stance wider like so. And finally the shoulder. The best way to gauge this is place trail hand on your thigh, run it down to your knee and join the two hands together. So straight away you can see my shoulders are on an angle ready to hit up on the ball. If you don't make these adjustments with your driver, then you're going to be very stuck. There's going to be no room to turn and you're going to hit the ball with not much distance or consistency. Why are the two are so different is because with the Ions, it's a shorter club. We want to be hitting down on the ball. Taking a divot, we're now with the driver, it's a longer club. We actually want to be hitting up on the ball, so we don't want to make contact with the ground at all. We want to be sweeping up on the ball to get that maximum distance and launch. However, now if you've got this nice solid base, you've got all this room to turn and you're going to hit the ball. So far and so good.
