After watching the One Nation One Subscription press conference, I felt the absence of a Library and Information Science professional in the discussion. While the panel members presented the initiative well, involving LIS experts could have added clarity in explaining the objectives of this transformative initiative and further clarified objectives, addressed doubts, and provided practical insights into subscription models and access to information. I feel, It’s time for LIS professionals to step beyond libraries and engage in broader discussions. Initiatives like ONOS are a great opportunity to showcase our value, share our expertise, and contribute to shaping policies. I also strongly believe that LIS professionals should aim to occupy key positions in the higher education ministry and other decision-making bodies to make a larger impact. #OneNationOneSubscription #LibraryProfessionals #LISCommunity #PolicyMaking #InformationAccess #LibrariesMatter
