Why I believe YouTube will dominate podcasting in 2025 Creators are motivated by opportunities to grow, engage, and earn sustainably — and YouTube delivers on all three. The shift is already happening. Here's why I predict YouTube will lead podcasting: 1. Superior data & transparency YouTube offers creators unparalleled access to data and analytics - and in a transparent nature that is only advantageous. You can track not only who’s watching & how they engage but see data on other creators content to inform the likelihood your next episode will 'be a banger' (as the kids say). 2. Discoverability The YouTube algorithm is one of the most powerful tools for organic reach. Unlike traditional audio platforms, YouTube actively works using 'Search' & 'Recommended' to surface your content to the right audience, even years after you’ve published it. 3. Monetisation With ads, memberships, and integrations, YouTube provides multiple avenues for creators to earn - and with a much lower barrier to entry than what’s possible with audio-only platforms. 4. Community building Comments, live chats, and community posts make it easier to interact directly with listeners. This fosters a loyal audience and allows people to feel part of something and like they belong, a must have for retention Podcasting has long been rooted in audio-first experiences, but YouTube brings undeniable advantages with its ecosystem. There are absolutely challenges here (effort, time, money, skill, a requirement for actual talent etc.) but if you’re a podcaster, now’s the time to start experimenting with doubling down on YouTube. Don't just tickbox post on it - deep-dive the platform and optimise for it. It’s not a question of if, but when. Do you agree? Come at me you purists, I bet you can't resist! 😜 OK bye #podcasting #youtube #bishbosh #creatoreconomy
