Great to be at Dubai Arbitration Week in Dubai, meeting amazing people and learning about the future of resolving disputes and use of AI in arbitration and mediation process. It was really a great experience. I have some exciting news to share. In the New Year, we will launch DCirrus AI tool for solo lawyers and small law firms. This tool will help lawyers save time and work more efficiently. It will run privately, just like your personal computer, and won’t connect to any outside network. Your data will stay 100% safe and secure. This will help lawyers to put chronology of events, creating indexes, searching of relevant clauses in the contracts, highlighting of relevant issues in pleadings and so on. Just to take some burden out from your legal assistant and juniors. Special free training will be provided to junior associates and legal assistants to use the tool. This made me think of the core point : Lawyers exist because clients need us. But what if, in the future, AI becomes so advanced that clients can resolve disputes on their own—without needing lawyers? If both sides trust a system, they might not need us as much anymore. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this! #LegalTech #AIForLawyers #DubaiArbitrationWeek #DIAC #Ignyte #VDR #DIFC

The UAE announces plans to launch Its first virtual lawyer The UAE Ministry of Justice has unveiled an exciting and pioneering project, the first virtual lawyer in the region, with the pilot version set to launch in 2025. This initiative promises to revolutionise legal proceedings, particularly for simple cases, and enhance the overall efficiency of our judicial system. What to Expect: The virtual lawyer will interact with human judges, convert voice to text, and submit documents electronically. It will utilise the Unified National Legislative Texts Database, allowing law firms to participate and contribute. A Game-Changer for the Legal Profession: This is a monumental step for the UAE, positioning it as a leader in legal innovation in the Middle East. By integrating AI, we can expect: Faster litigation processes; Significant reductions in administrative burdens; and Greater accuracy in decision-making. As part of the UAE’s vision to embrace technology, this initiative is supported by key government leaders, including the Minister of Justice, and aligns with the “Emirates Future Mission.” What makes this project pioneering is its focus on enhancing access to justice while ensuring data privacy through a secure government cloud environment. With legislation being developed to regulate this new frontier, we’re witnessing the dawn of a new era in legal services. As we approach 2025, it’s clear that AI isn’t just a tool; it’s set to redefine our profession and improve the experience for litigants across the UAE. As International Arbitration Week comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on the invaluable insights gained over the past few days. From exploring arbitration in the UAE and the intricacies of international arbitration awards to delving into the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the legal profession, each session has been an enlightening experience. 🧠💼 Throughout this event, I had the privilege of connecting with some extraordinary minds from across the globe. Amongst the many brilliant professionals I met, three individuals particularly stood out: Alice Lithgow, Partner at Summit Law LLP specialising in international commercial litigation, Maria Mulla Co-Founder A Mindful Lawyer distinguished Barrister, Mediator, Speaker, Arbitrator, and Commercial litigator & Hassam Raoon Corporate Legal Counsel having expertise commercial disputes, emerging technology including Blockchain & AI🌍✨ What truly struck me in my conversations with Alice and Maria was the remarkable synergy between us despite the generational divide. Their profound command of the law was matched only by their visionary approach to Artificial Intelligence. Both are forward-thinking lawyers who recognise that AI must be seamlessly integrated into the legal landscape, not as an afterthought but as a tool for shaping the future. 🚀⚖️ Their perspective on AI was nothing short of enlightening. They understand that the digital revolution has unfolded at an unprecedented pace, far surpassing the evolution of law over centuries. As they rightly pointed out, technology is not something to be feared, but embraced — with responsibility and ethics at the core. The discussion around distributed ledger technologies left me speechless, with their expertise leaving an indelible impression on me. 💡🔗 As we move forward, my team and I are eager to collaborate with like-minded professionals who share our commitment to harnessing AI for the greater good of society. Together, we can ensure that the next generation inherits a world where technology and law work in harmony, offering safety, accountability, and sustainability. 🌱💻 Looking forward to future discussions and meetups with those passionate about ensuring a safe and ethical AI future. 🌐🔍 #DubaiInternationalArbitrationWeek #DIFC #DubaiArbitration #InternationalArbitration #ArbitrationInDubai #DIFCLaw #LegalTech #AIInLaw
