Today, we celebrate International Women's Day by advocating for investment in women. For #IWD2024, let’s focus on: 🔹Ending Poverty: The aftermath of COVID-19 and global crises have pushed 75 million more into severe poverty, with women and girls at the forefront. 🔹Gender-Responsive Financing: Rising conflicts and costs are forcing 75% of countries to cut public spending by 2025, adversely affecting women. 🔹Green Economy & Caring Society: Shift towards economic models that prioritize environmental sustainability and women’s empowerment. 🔹Support Feminist Change-makers: With only 0.13% of development assistance, feminist organizations need more support to fight poverty and inequality. Together, we can forge a path to gender equality. Time to #InvestInWomen

Invest in women: Accelerate progress! ➡️ Here are five key areas needing joint action: Investing in women, a human rights issue: Time is running out. Gender equality is the greatest human rights challenge, benefiting everyone. Ending poverty: Due to the COVID pandemic and conflicts, 75 million more people have fallen into severe poverty since 2020. Immediate action is crucial to prevent over 342 million women and girls living in poverty by 2030. Implementing gender-responsive financing: Conflicts and rising prices may lead 75% of countries to cut public spending by 2025, negatively impacting women and their essential services. Shifting to a green economy and care society: The current economic system disproportionately affects women. Advocates propose a shift to a green economy and care society to amplify women's voices. Empowering women in the economy isn't just about fairness. Studies show that when women participate equally in the economy, productivity soars, income equality improves, and GDP sees a significant boost. Yet, women are still deeply underrepresented in national governance structures and in corporate management. In low-income countries, for example, only 24% of seats in national parliaments are held by women. According to The World Bank, the world average is only 26%. We believe philanthropy can play an essential role in changing that. At Co-Impact, we're incredibly proud to be part of a community of amazing partners across Latin America, Africa, and South Asia, supported by the Gender Fund. Till date, we have awarded around $100 million across more than 80 initiatives supporting program partners to address crucial issues and to ensure women and girls can lead fulfilling lives. They're working tirelessly to advance gender equality and women’s leadership, while challenging gender norms that hinder progress. Investing in women's economic empowerment involves providing resources, opportunities, and support to enable women to participate fully in the economy. This includes access to education, financial services, job training, and entrepreneurship support. When women are economically empowered, they can contribute more effectively to their families, communities, and economies. This not only helps lift individuals out of poverty but also leads to broader economic growth and development. By promoting gender equality in economic opportunities, we can create a more inclusive and equitable society, driving progress towards achieving global goals such as ending poverty, promoting sustainable development, and reducing inequality. #inspireinclusion #iwd #cws #investinwomen

🎈🎈Happy International Women's Day 🎈🎈 Celebrating women leaders, role models along with our male and non-binary allies. Along with the celebration, we need to recommit ourselves to take immediate actions for gender equality. When women progress, everyone benefits. Through continued dialogue and concerted efforts to foster inclusivity, challenging entrenched gender norms and promoting equal opportunities, we can build a more equitable and just future. We urgently need: · To break the cycle of poverty and strengthen communities to prevent over 342 million women and girls living in poverty by 2030. · Gender responsive budgeting needs to be the norm ensuring resources for women’s well-being and essential services. · Reform of economic systems is mandatory to end the exploitation and inequality faced by women · Innovative approaches are needed to build a more inclusive economy · Climate financing offers a chance to build a green economy and to shift towards a care society, where unpaid care work is valued, there is shared care giving along with social protection #iwd2024 #InvestInWomen #genderequality #internationalwomensday2024

Economic empowerment is a powerful tool for accelerating gender equality. When women have access to education, skills training, job opportunities, and financial resources, they can break barriers and contribute more fully to the economy. This not only improves their own livelihoods but also strengthens communities and nations. By promoting equal pay, supporting women entrepreneurs, and removing systemic barriers, we can create a more equitable and prosperous future for all. #internationalwomensday2024

💪🏻 International Women's Day 💪🏻 At Ataway, we believe in investing in women. Gender equality is not just a goal; it's a human rights imperative and the cornerstone for building inclusive societies. As a global company, we recognize the urgency of empowering women and ensuring they're not left behind. 🌍 Join us in taking a stand with the #InvestInWomen hashtag. Here are four key areas where joint action is needed to ensure women thrive: 🚨Ending Poverty: The COVID pandemic and other crises have pushed millions into severe poverty, with women disproportionately affected. Immediate action is crucial. 💰Implementing Gender-Responsive Financing: Austerity measures negatively impact women, crowding out essential public services. We must prioritize gender-responsive financing. 🌿Shifting to a Green Economy and Care Society: Current economic systems exacerbate inequalities, disproportionately affecting women. Let's advocate for alternative models that amplify women's voices. 🤝Supporting Feminist Change-makers: Feminist organizations lead efforts to tackle women's poverty and inequality but often lack resources. Let's support them. Let's work together to create a more equitable world. #IWD2024 #GenderEquality #AtawaySupportsEquality #InvestInWomen
