To address these issues 20 Civil Society Organisations will be hosting a Pre-Cop 29 event in Dhaka tomorrow. Chief Guest will be Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change and Guest speaker will be Dr. Abdul Hamid, Director General, Department of Environment. Highlight the Importance of Adaptation Measures 3. Stress the Need for Emission Reductions Urge developed nations to commit to more ambitious emission reduction targets to meet the 1.5°C goal of the Paris Agreement. Highlight how Bangladesh, despite being a low emitter, is disproportionately affected by emissions from high-emitting nations. 4. Promote Regional Cooperation 5. Demand Accountability and Fairness 6. Focus on Nature-Based Solutions 7. Engage Private Sector Participation 8. Strengthen Global Solidarity By focusing on these areas, Bangladesh can influence global leaders to take decisive and fair action on climate change, aligning with the broader goals of COP29.
