Planning on posting regular content to your social accounts this week? Please reconsider: Either stick to lighthearted content or hold off entirely. Those are your best options. If you choose option number one, please don't post anything from Wednesday through Friday, it won't kill your engagement/reach. The last thing you need is your memes or heavy content showing up between tense coverage of polling station issues in battleground states. AND - If you're thinking about urging people to vote, consider the potential comment chaos your community manager will have to handle!

Instagram is at it again with more fun features encouraging you to connect with other users. In this new update, the platform allows you to add comments on Stories, which are visible to all who view that Story content. In a Live-video-esque way, the Stories comments are displayed along the bottom of the frame, above the function controls and viewer details, so they’re not intrusive. According to Instagram chief Adam Mosseri, IG users now post a lot more to stories and send more DMs, than they post to the main feed. This limits interaction on the app, but Instagram has been trying to counter this with new features such as this one. For businesses and creators: this is another great way to boost your reach, by generating more engagement with your content.
