Dr. John Demartini and I recently discussed “altruistically sacrificing self for others,” and it reminded me of how it used to hit home for me. For years, I fell into the trap of giving endlessly, not only to my efforts with IPC, but I’d find myself often connecting people to my network, opening doors for others, bringing them along my journey and honestly because I was forgetting my own worth in the process. I poured so much into the Imperfectly Perfect Campaign because it’s my passion. Yet, I ran on empty, putting myself in a position where people saw me as the guy who would give his all & simply be a resource for them. This self-sacrifice stemmed from not recognizing my self-worth. Here’s the reality: if you don’t have people pouring into you, you deplete your energy and resources. You can’t give from an empty cup. Overgiving without reciprocation leads others to see you merely as a free resource. It’s not their fault—they’re responding to the boundaries you’ve set (or failed to set). Now, I’m blessed to get to guide those who come to me along my co-authorship and speakers journey out of this trap. By not only showing them how to know their self-worth but also let others know too, without ego or arrogance. The bonus is becoming a best selling author and speaker on our international stages to show the world who they are! Remember, You are enough. You deserve the world. Recognize your worth, set healthy boundaries, and allow others to pour into you. Self-worth and self-care are essential. When you let others support you, you recharge your capacity to give, making your altruism sustainable and far more impactful. #selfworth #sacrifice #leadership #author #speaker #imperfectlyperfectcampaign #worth #godswork #lessons
