The rapid advancement of #AI, particularly generative AI models like ChatGPT, has sparked intense debate around its potential impact on Advanced Industrial Analytics #AIA and manufacturing operations. How should manufacturing leaders view AI? * Disclaimer: I used an #AI tool to provide a summary of our discussions over the last two weeks and a draft LinkedIn post for me 😅 The LNS Research team has had many spirited internal discussions on the topic of AI within manufacturing. 🔍 Some view AI as simply the next evolution of AIA 🔎 Others see it as a transformative force that will fundamentally change how we interact with and build analytics tools altogether 👉🏼 In reality, the truth likely lies somewhere in between Instead of getting caught up in definitional debates, or whatnot, manufacturing leaders should focus on how AI can be leveraged as a powerful tool for solving key business challenges. Here's what we recommend to manufacturing leaders considering entering, pausing, or exiting the AI movement: ✔ Accept that AI is not a silver bullet, but a complementary capability to AIA. ✔ Take a holistic view and establish clear governance around AI deployment from the start to accelerate decision making while implementing AI thoughtfully. ✔ Follow in the footsteps of IX Leaders and explore high-value use cases where AI can drive tangible impact, such as predictive maintenance, supply chain optimization, and quality management. ✔ Integrating AI within existing tools, such as Connected Frontline Workforce #CFW applications, to dramatically improve workforce decision-making and ROI. As the AI toolbox expands with new techniques and technology, it will be critical for Global Heads of Operations to be aware of the latest research insights into the use of AI across manufacturing. 🔔 Follow the LNS Research team as we identify the best practices driving real value as AI's role in industrial operations evolves. 🔹 **Generative AI: A Tool for Execution, Not Innovation** 🔹 There’s a misconception about AI tools like ChatGPT: people often assume they’re here to “solve” complex problems from scratch. But here’s the reality: 💡 **Generative AI isn’t designed to *innovate*—it’s designed to *generate* solutions.** Think of it this way: AI, at its core, is not a source of original ideas but a powerful engine that can produce code, content, and drafts based on input or guidance. It’s like having a collaborator that brings ideas to life but relies on us for direction and insights. Here’s why this matters: 👉 **Strategic Creativity:** You provide the vision; AI accelerates its execution. 👉 **Efficient Implementation:** AI isn’t the driver of innovation but a catalyst for the ideas you bring to the table. 👉 **Human Oversight:** We remain responsible for refining, iterating, and elevating these AI-driven solutions. Generative AI’s true potential is in augmenting our workflows, not replacing our creativity. So, bring it your ideas and frameworks, and watch it transform them into action! #GenerativeAI #Innovation #AItools #Execution #Collaboration

Today, on the fifth day of #100daysofai, we generate our own AI assistance. IN this case, with the tool Chipp. But of course it also works with ChatGPT and others. For me, as an Organization Designer, it is interesting to see, how the AI assistance will be recognized as team members, or if they stay on a level of personal assistance. Thinking today: Breaking News – ChatGPT or any generative AI system can’t do everything for you or your business. :) Looking at the AI news coverage and (quite toxic) conversations between some of the leading AI experts, everyone is now trying very hard to break genAI-powered systems to show how they (funnily/horribly) fail in so many use cases and scenarios. It’s great that people test these powerful systems in their extreme to create awareness on their faults feeding the further development, but many times true intellectual honesty is completely missing in the above takes/discussions: It is a known and well-documented fact that generative AI technologies are far from being the general AI application working and scaling faultlessly across use cases, business sectors and industries. At the same time, today’s mainstream solutions tell explicitly to their users that they are far from being the most reliable and trustworthy systems to generate any kind of content. These technologies and their applications keep evolving, and we need to keep them in check. Simultaneously we need to continue developing them for better of humanity in a focused iterative and safe manner, in order to leverage the huge potential that they contain for various use and business cases. Forwards. #ai #design #llm #leadership #ml #customerexperience #future #productdesign

Tech.co surveyed 1000+ business leaders and found that ChatGPT was the most used AI tool in the workplace. It even surpassed big-name competitors like Bard and Bing AI. That's the law of leadership at play; being first often leads to being preferred. Just as ChatGPT sets the pace for AI tools, the same applies to adopting AI policies in business. Why? Adopting AI policies now shows a commitment to responsibly managing this transformative technology. This sets the stage for smarter decision-making and adaptive innovation. Consider this: in 5 years, who will customers trust more? A business with clearly defined AI usage policies, or one still trying to catch up? To help with this, we've written a How To article on AI policy creation. You can find it here: https://lnkd.in/gpC8BVsG And if you're looking to tailor an AI policy to your business environment, Stanfield IT is just a click or a call away.
