This is the take. Simon is right. Please do read it. And do consider its implications. In the #organisationdevelopment and #leadership community we of course abhor the injustices of racialisation and racism. We are, are we not, good people whose work is grounded in values and principle. This is not good enough. The dust will settle. For many, white folk, our urgency and realisation will fade. This week I have felt more keenly than ever the deep sorrow, rage and love that #antiracist work evokes in me. I must hang on to, feed, and act from and with those feelings. #OrganisationDevelopment and #Change practitioners and practice must remember and demonstrate our foundation is in social justice work. We must actively work to dismantle structural racism, show racialisation to be the heinous crime that it is, stand firm and ever strive in our commitment to equity and belonging for everyone. Not just because it is right and we are good. Because the inhumanity of this demeans and diminishes us all, including those of us who, like me, can leave the house never having to fear abuse and attack on us, or our families, because of the colour of our skin.

At random ; not in any order ; without plan….by chance, or without being chosen intentionally: The winning entry will be the first correct answer drawn at random. Participants were selected at random. The lottery numbers were picked at random.  Ten more horses from the races were chosen at random for testing. The police stopped cars at random to check if the drivers had insurance. The first five correct answers picked at random will be the winners. Vehicles were pulled over seemingly at random. The answers seemed to be plucked at random. We will choose a number at random , and the person with that number will win! A: How were the seats assigned for the concert? B: They assigned them at random, so we got lucky with the front row! A: How did you end up with that role in the school play?  B: Honestly, they just assigned parts at random.
