Play up Pompey, Pompey play up! I have had the privilege to both play and coach at Fratton Park and a repeated take-away was always the impressive condition of the playing surface. That now appears to have improved even further! German-based tech company turfcoach are onside with Portsmouth Football Club and are putting their data-led approach to pitch care and performance at the heart of English football in the EFL (English Football League). Using hundreds of data points accessing a myriad of metrics within the surface, combined with weather readings and human feedback, the software is able to effectively use AI to generate a host of usable insights on the conditions of the pitch. turfcoach highlighted some very impressive "unseen" advantages understanding this data can have. Outside of the obvious improvement in ability to maintain the surface, other areas such as injury prevention, to in-game pitch analysis supporting tactical decision-making, means that this technology is pioneering the use of real-time environmental data to enhance the professional game. #engineering #STEM #engineeringfootball

Is the affordability period permanent and in perpetuity? 3. What guarantees exist have your local, state, and federal government officials obtained in writing that rents will not go up or that tenants will not be displaced or evicted after the "affordability period expires? This week marked the midpoint of our first five years. As I was taking this photo I was thinking about the amazing achievements of this group of outstanding scientists in such a short time! Over 60 PIs spread across the whole country (one is actually abroad!) in more than 20 prestigious institutions working on #preclinical #mousemodels to accelerate the pace of discovery of both #diagnosis and #therapy in important #disease areas such as #cancer, #CongenitalAnomalies, #microbiome, #haematopoiesis, #NeurologicalDisorders, #MitochondrialDiseases #ageing, also developing new technologies to modulate #protein levels in vivo and generate complex #alleles using the most up-to-date #GenomeEditing methods. Do you have a no D!£%head policy? Turns out it’s good for business. Yesterday I had the privilege of listening to the Chair of the Welsh Rugby Union Richard Collier-Keywood talk eloquently about the important Welsh cultural asset he is now responsible for and the need for it to serve all stakeholders i.e. benefit society beyond the bottom line. In business it’s known as CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) which emerged as a concept in the 1960s. Back then it was seen as an altruistic means of doing more with a business than just making money, but it was assumed it would involve sacrificing profit to achieve it. The growing evidence shows this is not the case. Being environmentally responsible, inclusive and serving of all stakeholders (customers, employees, investors, the environment and wider society) builds a strong brand, customer engagement, profit and also investment opportunities. The All Blacks have an NDH (No D!£%head) policy. They clean their own dressing rooms, carry their own bags and essentially show humility, accountability and a recognition of all the stakeholders in their organisation. For me, corporate social responsibility boils down to common sense, respect and humility. It’s good to see those leading our national game going forward aspire to the same ethos. And at a time of such high attrition in business in general, would it not be best to have a smart business model that ensures that everyone in the eco system is incentivised to see the venture succeed?  

It's inspiring to see business owners dedicating their time to learning and evolving together. It requires openness, honesty, and transparency, which means being vulnerable enough to acknowledge weaknesses or blind spots and being receptive to others' input for personal growth.

From buying my first property to diving into multifamily investments, I celebrate every achievement. Every win, no matter how small, is important and marks progress on our journey. No matter how big or small the success, it’s worth celebrating. Each step forward brings us closer to our goals. So let’s take a moment to acknowledge and enjoy all our wins.
