Brick by Brick: Costruire librerie Open Source So you have an idea, and you want to publish a library for it? But where do you start? Doing Open Source is a fine art which requires skill you don't easily learn on schoolbooks. Creating a new library is like building a new house that people want to live in: you need to start with a great foundation, build your inner walls and then add all the niceties that make your house the best place to live in. Join us as we share our journey building Open Source Android libraries: we'll start from tools to help you organize your code, we'll learn how to publish your libraries publicly and how to effectively maintain them. Throughout this journey, we'll share our experience maintaining popular Android libraries such as Detekt, Chucker and AppIntro. A house won't be a home without someone living inside it, though. As your library won't be a popular library without a strong community around it. So we'll have the opportunity to share our insights on building strong communities around Open Source, getting developers together, finding new contributors and dealing with maintainer burnout. Curious to know how to build a shiny new library brick by brick? Then make sure to don't miss out this talk, and we can't wait to see what you all will be building! https://lnkd.in/drjDRDJB

🚀 Excited to share my latest project: a VS Code app clone built with React! As developers, we often find inspiration from tools that enhance our workflow. I've always admired the user-friendly interface and powerful features of Visual Studio Code, so I decided to recreate a simplified version of it using React. Key features of my VS Code clone: 📁 Folder structure: Organize your files just like in VS Code with a collapsible folder structure. ✏️ Create files and folders: Easily add new files or folders to your project with a few clicks. 🌟 Interactive UI: Intuitive buttons for creating folders or files, making the app user-friendly. ⚡️ React Hooks: Leveraging useState and custom hooks for efficient state management and tree traversal. Check out the demo here: https://lnkd.in/gRQGKaqu and feel free to explore the code on GitHub: https://lnkd.in/gzAy-heE I had a blast working on this project, and it's a testament to the power of React in creating dynamic and responsive web applications. Let me know your thoughts and any feedback you have! Happy coding! 🚀💻 #React #WebDevelopment #VSCodeClone #CodingCommunity

Understanding the Power of the children Prop in React 🚀 In React, the children prop is a game-changer when it comes to creating reusable components. Let me break it down for you! 👇 What Does the children Prop Do? -The children prop acts as a placeholder inside a component. -➡️ Whatever content you pass into the component will dynamically replace that placeholder. -This makes components highly flexible and reusable for different scenarios. 💡 How Does It Work? -When you use the children prop, the content displayed can change every time the component is used. -In other words, the same component can have different content depending on the context—this is what makes it dynamic! ⚡ Example: A Reusable Card Component Here’s a simple React component: function Card({ children }: { children: React.ReactNode }) { return ( <div style={{ border: "1px solid black", padding: "10px", margin: "10px" }}> {children} </div> ); } This Card component acts as a box with a border. Whatever you pass as children will appear inside that box. Now, let’s use this component: tsx function App() { return ( <div> <Card> <h1>Welcome to the First Card</h1> <p>This is some description inside the first card.</p> </Card> <Card> <h1>Welcome to the Second Card</h1> <p>This card has different content!</p> </Card> </div> ); } What Will Display in the Browser? -When React renders this, the children prop is replaced with the content passed to it. -Here’s how it looks: 1️⃣ First Card: Welcome to the First Card This is some description inside the first card. 2️⃣ Second Card: Welcome to the Second Card This card has different content! Why Is This Dynamic? -The Card component doesn’t decide what to display. It simply renders whatever is passed as children. For instance: -The first Card replaces {children} with: <h1>Welcome to the First Card</h1> <p>This is some description inside the first card.</p> The second Card replaces {children} with: <h1>Welcome to the Second Card</h1> <p>This card has different content!</p> Using the children prop is a simple yet powerful way to make your components reusable and dynamic. 🛠️ Have you used the children prop in your projects? Share your thoughts or examples below! 👇 #ReactJS #FrontendDevelopment #WebDevelopment #TypeScript #ReusableComponents

Introducing our conference speakers! Today's Speaker Spotlight shines on Stephen Margheim with his talk 'How (and why) to run SQLite in production'✨ What prompted his choice of topic? "In the last couple of years, I have found self-managed Rails apps backed by SQLite to be the most efficient and effective stack for the R&D apps our company has been building. I want to demonstrate for others how productive and pleasant this experience can be for solo developers and small teams." 🙌 What can the audience anticipate? "This talk will get into the nitty gritty of what running a production Rails application with SQLite requires and unlocks, the kinds of apps it is amazing for, and those that would be a tougher fit. And the entire exploration will be grounded in a demo application I have built, deployed, and open-sourced for this conference." 💯
