From our earliest days as humans, "why" is at the core of everything we do... it drives us to find answers. I remember being one of those kids that asked "why" to anyone and everyone that would potentially have an answer. It continued through my university studies and eventually led me to where I am today, leading others to grow and develop... staying curious and finding purpose and meaning, bringing potential to life.
Our "why", the reason we exist at Deloitte, is to make a positive impact that matters in the lives of Canadians and beyond... being part of Deloitte means that everything we do is geared to bringing that to life. It means we are compelled to lean in and help on the toughest of challenges... so we are working on big things. Check it out.

People migrate for various reasons, forced or voluntarily. Many of them, to some extent, have similar motivation which is mainly to have a better life/future. Among the migrants who migrate to seek a better job/income, we often say that they are important and the backbone of the economy. However, in the context of financial services, particularly among low-income migrants, still face challenges in accessing and using formal remittance services to send money back home.
Migration and remittance touch many different elements, including identity, infrastructure and touchpoints readiness, cross-border remittance and employment policy between countries, etc. Remittance is the most relevant use-case among the migrants and can be an effective entry point to empower the migrants and access other products/services to manage their financial needs and resilience.
With support from our donor and in partnership with Wing in Cambodia, Women's World Banking developed a solution using our women-centered design approach, to serve Cambodian migrants who work in Thailand. Listening to the migrants' voices, particularly women migrants, on their journey to Thailand and their dreams, has motivated us to design an effective solution that fits their needs and challenges in sending money back home. The solution helps migrants (and their families) access and use easy, affordable, faster, and safer remittance services.
Please see the video to listen to the migrants' stories and what WING offers to meet their remittance needs:
