Our app (Around Me) succeeded in its initial user acquisition strategies last quarter at the University of California, Riverside. We saw strong initial interest, but we wanted to prioritize long-term engagement before scaling. We learned that a great user experience is key to keeping people coming back. That's why we built this amazing team (check out their video! ) to focus on UX improvements and new features. But what sets us apart? We're a "Not for Dating" app for instant meetups with verified UCR students, connecting diverse communities across campus. We're already collaborating with 100 clubs in UCR, and it's getting awesome! The Cybersecurity Career Ambassador Program is on a mission to weave a vibrant tapestry of volunteers - through employers, educators, and more - who stand as beacons, guiding folks to shape a diverse and robust cybersecurity workforce.   Ambassadors, you're the heroes here!   - Spark inspiration, engage hearts, and fill minds with knowledge about the booming demand for cybersecurity talent, the learning avenues open for exploration, and the many career paths waiting to be discovered.   - Break down the cybersecurity career myths by highlighting the assorted learning routes and credentials leading to roles outlined in the NICE Workforce Framework for Cybersecurity.   - Bolster initiatives and resources that craft a highly skilled, diverse workforce, with a special shoutout to programs uplifting women, minorities, veterans, disabled individuals, and other underrepresented groups.   Cybersecurity Career Ambassadors are the heart and soul of our quest to magnify cybersecurity awareness and champion workforce diversity. Whether through schools, local organizations, places of worship, or workplaces, ambassadors can host talks or community events to spread the word.   We’re on the hunt for passionate folks! Remember when we thought adulthood meant “freedom”? Instead, it turned out to be balancing bills, friendships, side hustles, relationships, and figuring out what on earth “work-life balance” actually is! Some days, it feels like the universe expects us to have it all figured out—while we’re still Googling how to boil an egg perfectly. In June 2021, to mark California's reopening, we hosted "REBIRTH," a dynamic industry event that spanned all 50,000 square feet of Ciel Creative Space. Our mission was clear: reunite the community after over a year of isolation. A major focus of REBIRTH was supporting local businesses that had suffered tremendous losses during the shelter-in-place orders. Partnering with a local, woman-of-color-owned event agency, Make it Mariko, we brought together dozens of local businesses, artists, caterers, musicians, and more to breathe life back into the space.
