✨ Using AI-generated images to inspire students about their future—what a fantastic idea! 🙌 Earlier this year, I tried something similar for myself. In January 2024, I created a visual roadmap of what I envisioned for the next five years. Instead of just writing down my goals, I used AI to generate images that captured how I imagined my world could look—how projects would unfold, what success might feel like, and even the environments I’d like to work in. There’s something powerful about turning abstract goals into visuals. It anchors the vision in a way that words often can’t, making it feel tangible and achievable. 🖼️ This approach isn’t just for personal growth—it’s a game-changer for strategic planning in organizations too. Imagine aligning a team around a shared vision, not just through words but through compelling, AI-powered visuals that bring your goals to life. 🚀 What do you think—would you try something like this for yourself or your organization? #ai #strategy #goals

What other ways we can use Gen-AI in education?

Normalizing use of generative AI in classrooms like this is really disheartening. Three major issues: 1. How much more meaningful would it have been for them to draw themselves in those roles? Not everything needs the shake-and-bake, bland speed of generative AI. And don't forget the racial and gender bias that AI outputs often have. 2. Did their parents give consent for their images to be uploaded to a dataset? How were the images labeled, anonymized? With the amount of deepfakes and abuses AI lends itself to, I would be very worried about this and expect at least a permission slip. 3. There are no ethically gathered AI datasets. There are some (like Firefly) that claim they are. None of the datasets used for training AI are opt-in, no one consented, or was compensated for their images' inclusion. Instead of the video mentioning having a discussion about the issues around generative AI with the students, we're only seeing the "gee whiz" of the output. If this was my kids' class, we'd be having a serious talk with the teacher. 🔸 #NoAI #CreateDontScrape #education

Inspirational! Here’s why if interested. As a young walking/talking kid, I would ride around the house on a toy fire truck and Flinstone my way around the house asking if I could put out any fires.🔥 😂 my mom took a Polaroid? (late 70s) and I looked at it often. I can’t say I looked at it often, but I do recall the positive reactions from people when she would show the picture with pride to others of the man I would become. That’s the first reason, this ai-future-photo is wonderful. Since I didn’t become a fireman!!👨🚒 I have an equally solid memory of having my math tests on the fridge. I believe it was 3rd grade when multiplication tables were taught. Like a few others, I got 💯 on 💯 in the allotted time. So much that the challenge switched to timing with 100% accuracy. No one beat my time, so the teacher challenged me after school. Each night I would challenge myself and the fastest time would be on the fridge. I did end up being faster than the teacher. Would my photo have been one of me with equations floating around me in the air like the [ai] has done for great mathmeticians? I’ve challenged myself to some complex financial models in my career. I was the first to track the displacement of copper line phone minutes to VoIP when I started on Wall Street at Piper Jaffray. After Goldman, I built the first database of the world’s data centers (having toured several hundred myself). At Rackspace, I created AppMatcher, a matching site for small businesses with the best version of a (CRM for example) an app for their location, size and industry. Now that I’m 50, and math (not 🧑🚒) is driving me. Multi-variable calculus. I’d love to tell you about the business (so ask me about my algorithm 😎). But the point of sharing this today is that my confidence stems from that glimpse of the future self “outside” the one in our mind. Being able to show people a picture of yourself as a doctor, (fireman), executive, or yes (one kid had a soccer ⚽️ uniform…goal for him!) will provide them an intellectual path to compare against as they learn, mature, etc. Who is the first school district to adopt this? As the new administration considers removing the federal level DeptEdu (giving it to the states, vouchers, etc)… may this become an item in early math education.

Visualize your future, put things in place as best as you can to make it happen. Do not stop dreaming. What a wonderful example of visualizing the future..

This shows how school pupils can look at their future selves through AI-generated images. It’s incredible how powerful LORAs can be when used for purpose and vision coaching. What do you think? Who’s interested in a purpose and vision session with AI-generated images? #PurposeCoaching #FutureThinking #AI
