This is "Labyrinthus," one of my op art pieces that has the characteristic of creating illusory colors when scrolled up and down. The horizontal lines of the artwork will appear yellowish, while the vertical lines will appear bluish. Though not new, the effect is particularly surprising here! Explore the Fechner-Benham effect with this tutorial: https://lnkd.in/d7aUgVUy #opticalillusion #colorillusion #opart

“When misguided public opinion honors what is despicable and despises what is honorable, punishes virtue and rewards vice, encourages what is harmful and discourages what is useful, applauds falsehood and smothers truth under indifference or insult, a nation turns it's back on progress and can be restored only by the terrible lessons of catastrophe.” ― Frédéric Bastiat, Economic Harmonies After the 2024 Election, it seemed only fitting and appropriate to react with artwork as words can sometimes fail: "Terrible Lessons of Catastrophe" is an 9x12" Acrylic on Canvas Pad from September 2024. As you can see from the date of this artwork, it was worked on and completed long before the election. It sat around the studio for a couple weeks as the decision to leave it or add more was being made. Ultimately nothing more was added to the composition that we're featuring today; only its title and protective coatings of varnish. Artist's Statement / Backstory: With this artwork there's a tension between the dark and lighter blue-gray color; which can read as a little bit of chaos and perhaps even confusion if the light is being overtaken by the darkness or vice versa. While I was working on it someone even commented that it seemed darker than a lot of my other work. The quote the title is borrowed from is one that I've had on file for a while. When I see a quote I like or that resonates with me, often while searching for something else, I save it in a folder and then revisit them every so often. Combining this image with the quote after the 2024 election was the easiest part! #artwork #newartwork #acrylic #acrylicpainting #abstract #abstractart #abstractpainting #abstractartwork #abstractpainter #frédéricbastiat #quotes #WednesdayWisdom #wisdomquotes #wisdomoftheday #wednesdaywisdom #quotesoftheday #artiststatement #paintinglive #thejourney #thejourneychurch #harrisburg #harrisburgpa #harrisburgartist #controlledchaos #craigscanvases

To make art genuinely accessible to every social class, it must pivot back to storytelling and imagination to find the correct combination of genius and ingenuity that characterises humans. Finally, I managed to get out of the job market, and I have conquered freedom; as an amateur artist, in the sense that I produce my works for pleasure, I do not deny the past. Instead, my work and that of searching among the masterpieces of the past, but also sometimes of the present, figures, details, glimpses, and combinations of colours, reassemble them into new entities that make sense to me and the public. In short, I act like artificial intelligence, fishing in the art’s history and mechanically reassembling, while I, as said, add and distinguish all with ingenuity and incredible talent, recreating unique pieces but with recognisable roots. Exactly what I have done with Amedeo Modigliani's masterpiece, Anna’s Portrait, and adding my twist. I was introducing my latest creation, D8 Sylvester AM. Where D stand for debunking project, 8 is the serial number, Sylvester is the painting subject, and AM is the initial of Amedeo Modigliani. It is an original oil on canvas piece, 80x60cm. Inspired by the Fauvism style, this artwork has funny features, such as Sylvester the cat being terrified and screaming. #Fauvism, #AmedeoModigliani, #modernart, #oilpainting, #Reah, #renzostreglio

This piece is a vibrant mixed-media artwork that juxtaposes various elements and textures to create an intriguing visual experience. At the center, there's a detailed, black and white pencil drawing of a woman's face. Her expression is contemplative, with eyes gazing to the side and lips slightly parted. The face is adorned with leopard-like spots, adding a wild aspect to the visage. Surrounding the face, an explosion of colorful feathers in vivid hues of pink, yellow, blue, green, and purple extends outward, creating the illusion of a mask or headdress. These feathers are intricately detailed with patterns and dots that enhance their exotic appeal. In the foreground, several Rubik's Cubes are drawn, their colors as vivid as the feathers. They add a playful, intellectual, and modern touch to the composition, contrasting with the organic lines of the feathers and the natural theme suggested by the spots on the woman's face. The background is a deep, matte black that makes the central elements pop, with subtle line drawings of loops and circles that lend a sense of motion and continuity. Monarch butterflies in black and white flutter around the composition, suggesting transformation and freedom. Overall, this piece could be interpreted as a celebration of complexity and diversity, mixing the natural with the man-made, the playful with the profound, and the real with the imaginative. https://lnkd.in/dvdiT5KM #drawwithme #digitalart #mixedmediaart #mixedmedia #asmr #oanaarabagiuart #drawing, #howtodrawaface, #howtodrawagirl, #howtodrawrealisticface, #learnhowtodraw,#artistomg, #art, #howtomakeportrait, #easytomakeart, #howtomakecollages. #mixedmediacollage #mixedmediacollagepainting #mixedmediacollagearttutorials #clipstudiopaint

"Game" Material: glass, oil paint. Any human activity and in particular art, inevitably determines the time through which the nature of phenomena and events, their duration and length are expressed. I want to share with you my series of works called " Smileys ". Despite the centuries-old history of smileys (the first appeared in the late 19th century), only now they have become an element of mass culture. The widespread use of smileys is due to the fact that a person seeks to identify himself through a schematic image, which assigns his/hers own current emotional state. The essence of this project is that a person perceiving a smile in an artistic context can involuntarily move himself/herself into a similar situation by analyzing and sensually processing it. At first, the works seemed to be fun and comical. However, I felt a change in the subject under the influence of the today’s surrounding reality: diseases/ Covid-19, Self-isolation, Masks, Lockdown, etc. The project planned to use various visual materials and techniques, but currently there is a series of 18 works made with oil paint on glass. © Yuriy Nemish/ NemishArt #art #paintingart #fineart #contemporarypainting #contemporaryart #artforsale #signedpainting #readyforframing #readyforframe #finishedpainting #finishedpaintings #artcollector

Do you know why #artisans are #creators like god? Because they do something that most of us don't even know, and they have been following that for centuries. In most of #folk, #tribal and #traditional #art, if you might not have have noticed. The process of making is; 1. First outline with pencil or trace (Drawing) 2. #Color filling, light to dark begins with backdrop #elements 3. Filling the colors in everything (landscape, #nature, building etc) and detailing it out 4. #Costumes, #Accessories and others 5. Hands and Legs 6. Face and headgear AND at the end EYES, yes eyes! Reason is why #artists paint eyes last, so that the character becomes alive. It is also know as the process of 'Pran Prathistha' meaning entering the soul into the character, so that they become alive, and #expression of which one can see through the eyes, painted for all the character in all #paintings, Doing Eyes means end of any art #form, as the character become alive, and doing anything would hurt them, Meaning these characters in the art have emotions, feeling and they live in that frame, so you cannot do anything, it will disturbs them. Isn't this amazing!

Does the color of wine change when poured into a glass? Although it may appear darker, the red shade remains the same. This visual trick is a result of the Munker-White illusion—where our brain perceives colors differently depending on their surrounding context. If you’re fascinated by puzzles like this, reach out to my syndication agent to feature them in your publication: https://lnkd.in/dEmme9w This op art piece is also available as prints and canvases in my online gallery: https://lnkd.in/dxZtqkWz. "Community" is an intricate, delicate and stunning hand-carved ostrich eggshell on genuine honeycomb and resin base sculpture by 10th Edition Finalist, Cherie Lee🖌️ "An egg is a single cell. No matter how small or how big, chicken, duck or silly goose: just one single cell. Everything it needs, perfectly contained. I don’t know why that amazes me, but it does. An ant-hill; a hive; a community. The Earth. All operate in the form of a single cell. What is it's strength and where is it weak or vulnerable? If one part of it is damaged, how can the whole thing not feel threatened? Impressed with this material’s strengths and curious about its weaknesses and boundless capabilities, I was eager to find out how much of the shell can be removed without the egg snapping; but, how much can be taken away from something without it losing it's integrity?* I continuously discover that the more you take away, the more you see what’s there. Removing 50% of the viewing area reveals a greater percentage of the whole piece. The honeycomb pattern in this design is as much a gauge for removal- amount as for the trompe l’oeil pleasure I get from straight lines on curved surfaces. *embarrassingly, it was well after the completion of this piece before it dawned on me to weigh each shell before and after carving. Turns out, how much you take away is measurable."- Cherie Lee 🔗 https://lnkd.in/d_n-Z5rP @CherieLeeCreations #sculptureart #art #sculpture #artist #boynesartistaward #artaward #finalist

The Dream Machine - 8574 #AIArt Prompt: Generate an image that captures the essence of a cyberpunk-style oil painting. The composition of this artwork should emanate an air of happiness. The colors should be vibrant and highly contrasted to make every detail pop. The overall theme of the artwork is patriotism with references to traditional American symbols and themes. Imagine the fusion of futuristic high-rise buildings, neon street signs and glimmering digital elements with symbols such as the bald eagle or the Liberty Bell. However, a balance should be struck so that the nostalgic elements do not overpower the overall cyberpunk aesthetic of the picture.
