I began Cancha at 22, still travelling the world for tennis, studying, and trying to figure things out. During a recent stint in Barcelona, I finally compiled 3000+ words on 22 key lessons I've learned so far along the way—some professional, some personal. ---- I changed #22 to #1, which I'll share here because it's a recent insight from my good friend and mentor, Helmut Schuster, and has been a huge learning for me recently: Ask, don't assume. There's a transformative power in seeking help and showing reciprocity. It's humbling to realize that people are often more willing to assist than we give them credit for. Not only that, we usually have little idea of their situation or intrinsic goals, and making assumptions that they are too busy, too successful, or too indifferent to help or get involved does both you and them a disservice. ---- Passing on the full 22 lessons here:
