- In an ideal world, the PGA Tour should be 20-22 tournaments from January to August. I know that’s not every week. Then have some tournaments go to the Korn Ferry Tour just throwing random names – (Cognizant), a Valero, a Dominican, those are Korn Ferry majors, you win one of those and you get promoted (in-season). It’s just an idea of having it where two signature events in a row, week off, three on, whatever it needs to be to where the top guys don’t have to play every week; they are still playing together but it’s 120 (man fields). If you get your card through Korn Ferry, it’s top 20 or top 25, you’re in those. We all think that’s the ideal situation, whether or not it’ll get there, who knows, it’s nowhere close.” - Read "Reduced fields? Relegation? In-season promotion? Korn Ferry Tour ‘majors’? Everything on the table in PGA Tour overhaul" on SmartNews: https://lnkd.in/eg7Qapnm

When I was a young man, my high school track and cross country coach made me memorize the first 20 men to break the 4-minute mile. At the time…I didn’t fully understand the significance of that list or why it mattered so much. Looking back, I see it now: it wasn’t just about speed—it was about belief, grit, and shattering the limits we impose on ourselves. It all started with Roger Bannister. On May 6, 1954, Bannister did what the world believed was impossible, running a mile in 3:59.4. His feat wasn’t just a milestone in athletics; it was a psychological breakthrough that proved our barriers are often in our minds. What’s even more remarkable is what happened after. Once Bannister showed it could be done, the floodgates opened. Within 46 days, John Landy followed. In the years that followed, these men joined the club, proving over and over that limits are meant to be broken: 1. Roger Bannister 2. John Landy 3. Laszlo Tabori 4. Brian Hewson 5. Istvan Rozsavolgyi 6. Merv Lincoln 7. Ron Delany 8. Derek Ibbotson 9. Herb Elliott 10. Dan Waern 11. Murray Halberg 12. Willy Polleunis 13. Jim Ryun 14. Kip Keino 15. Alan Simpson 16. John Boulter 17. Peter Snell 18. Michel Bernard 19. Gerry Lindgren 20. Bruce Tulloh Bannister’s story teaches us that leadership—on the track, in the boardroom, or in life—is about showing others what’s possible. He didn’t just break a record; he changed the mindset of a generation and generations to come! What limits are you challenging today? Who are you inspiring to believe that the impossible is within reach?

So apparently someone else chose to visit Silverstone today to make some important announcements but that wasn’t the real meeting of the day at Silverstone Park The most important meeting of the day was undoubtedly that with myself, Stephen Watts (Managing Partner TC Group Northants/Milton Keynes/Leicestershire) and Pim van Baarsen (CEO Silverstone Technology Cluster STC). A meeting to discuss TC Group’s strategic decision to become members of the STC and very much to complement my role as a long standing ambassador and advocate of the cluster. We discussed how we can work with Pim and the STC Team over the coming weeks, months and years on a variety of topics with clear synergies between our two organisations. With subject matters discussed around key areas such as support, investment, succession and thought leadership. With a real focus on how we can work together to deliver more for the cluster, its members and certainly some of our clients at TC Group. There was certainly lots to takeaway from said meeting so watch this space for updates as we look to build this relationship. #support #opportunities #colloboration #community #cluster #innovation
