One of the things we've always strived to do here at Contract Scotland is to remain part of the conversation after we place someone with a new employer. We don't simply drop someone in to a new job and hope for the best. Particularly in this day & age where the industry is so stretched - onboarding new employees can be a tricky task. And if not handled well, it can sow the seeds for failure. So we try to be on hand to offer support where it's needed. Where possible, we aim to meet in person on site once someone has had a chance to sample life in their new job. Quite often it can be a fairly confirmatory (albeit gratifying) exercise where all reports are good. On other occasions though, there may be value we can add in acting as a sounding board between both parties. So much can hinge on the details, and if there's something not quite as expected prior to accepting a job offer, it can be the source of some grievance. With our input, we can help smooth over any potential differences of view before they boil up in to bigger problems. There are some out there who view our continued involvement with a degree suspicion - sadly their cynicism comes with some justification - it is not totally unheard of to have less scrupulous recruiters 'recycle' candidates they've placed in jobs for additional fees. But for our part, the aim is always to forge effective working relationships with both parties and if, by sharing our perspective and experience, we can help set the foundations for a successful placement, then it is time well spent. #construction #recruitmentindustry #aftercare
