Just finished the course “Coaching Skills for Leaders and Managers” by Sara Canaday! I've come to appreciate the importance of coaching in effective leadership, recognizing that guiding is more valuable than directing. The GROW Model, which stands for Goal, Reality, Options, and Will, provides a structured framework for coaching conversations. This approach empowers team members to take ownership of their next steps while facilitating clear goal-setting, reality assessment, and exploration of options. By adopting this strategy, I align with the leadership principle of Service to Others, which prioritizes supporting and encouraging others to reach their full potential. Rather than providing straightforward answers, I now see coaching as essential for promoting autonomy and growth. This approach cultivates a culture where employees feel valued, engaged, and respected, ultimately increasing team trust and transparency.
