Exclusively for Experienced Developers? Well yes, but with some exemptions. But why? For the same reason that giving talks at conferences is not for juniors. 1️⃣ Look, it's an educational hackathon. The main takeaway for participants isn't prizes or benefits, but new skills learned from others. 2️⃣ The goal of the hackathon is to build a complex platform, which requires deep development experience. 3️⃣ However, we review all LinkedIn profiles, and if we see a junior with experience in serious projects, we approve them. 4️⃣ By the way, a few times even kids have given talks at our Geekle tech conferences. It was very cool, fun, and inspirational. So exception are possible. 5️⃣ We hope this approach to the professional level of participants will ensure the highest experience for both participants and attendees. Join here https://lnkd.in/dzMuWV4c P.S. Do you think a junior developer can take on the role of an AI engineer in the team, or is this position is more like architects - for more experienced developers? #GeekleHackathon #AIHackathon #geekle #geekleai #hackathon #TechEvent #OnlineHackathon #Coding

This weekend just past, I competed in and completed my first hackathon - Build Together: AI Hackathon. It was a priveldge to be involved and to see the projects the other participants were working on. My team mates Thomas S. and Chitradevi S Ramachandran have already posted on the event and I recommend you read their posts to get a fuller understanding of what the event entailed: Tom's post: https://lnkd.in/gPHbDnzU Chitra's post: https://bit.ly/4bXmieK I thought in this post I might dive a little deeper into the AI component of our build. We decided to use LangChain for our build due to familiarity and the control it provides for multi-agent frameworks. Given the less than 24 hours build time I ended up (thanks vline), we decided to forgo using LangGraph and simply hard coded the connections between agents. The agents themselves all followed a similar design with Role, Task and Notes sections broken up using markdown. For quick prototyping/design iteration using a Notes section is invaluable to quickly train the agents away from 'bad' behaviour. Big thanks to our fourth team mate Florian Johannes Leonhardt assisting with prompt design. Thanks also to Build Club, Annie Liao 🇦🇺, Jordi Hermoso, Xavier Andueza and all the other hosts. #AIHackathon #LangChain #TeamWork #BuildCLob #AIMelbourne

No time to participate in a hackathon? No problem! Hackathons are awesome, but what if you already fully loaded? Don't worry, you can still be part of the action as an attendee! 1. Learn requirements and guidelines from top experts at four pre-competition workshops. 2. Check out amazing projects after the teams finish their work. 3. Hear judges' questions and ask your own. 4. Test out the competition projects to see how they work. 🙌 And, of course, enjoy exciting networking with competing teams and star judges!
