Let's say you have: - 5,000 email subscribers - an average open rate of 38% - a conversion rate of 1% - an average donation of $128 ...You can expect about 19 donations and roughly: $2,432 PER EMAIL BUT...if you increase your CTA conversions by even 20% - to 1.2% - you are looking at: ⬆️ 23 donations ⬆️ $2,944 That's more than $500+ raised per email JUST by changing your CTA. Your lack of a dedicated year-end donation page is costing you $$$$ I don't mean: - a dedicated year-end campaign - unique year-end messaging - year-end advertising - year-end incentives I mean a single, dedicated donation page (totally separate from your regular donation page) that all of the above point your donors and your potential donors to... Do you have that? If not you're missing out on serious money! Since I've joined iDonate, I've gotten the privilege of learning SOOOO much from a partner organization called NextAfter that specializes in helping non-profits raise more money. They ran a test recently that statistically proved that a dedicated, high urgency year-end donation page increases donations by up to a whopping 81% (check out the link to this experiment in the comments) And this is the kind of stuff that we help people with at iDonate every single day. The majority of donors are cheating on you. OK well maybe I can’t call it cheating but they are donating to multiple organizations. You aren’t getting their full charitable wallet share. Why? Because you aren’t sufficiently demonstrating how their dollar is actually making a difference. This may be hard to hear but your auto generated thank you letter isn’t going to cut through the noise. It’s no different from every other nonprofit they’re donating to. Impact reports have been show to increase donations by 53%. Donors LOVE to know how their money is helping your mission. The amazing Big Give's Christmas Challenge has become the UK’s biggest public fundraising campaign in 2024 after raising a record-breaking £44.7 million in just one week. It's been a privilege to work on the comms for this campaign with the Big Give team, and I want to thank HELLO! Magazine for being our official media partner, and providing unstinting support in print and online, as well as many other outlets who covered the campaign including Daily Express, LBC, Times Radio and ITV's Lorraine Kelly. If you don't know Big Give, its premise is a very simple one. Any public donations made during its campaigns to participating charities are doubled, thanks to match funding provided by generous funding champions - philanthropists, companies and foundations. This year, 1,267 different charities big and small took part. The total raised marks a remarkable 35% increase from last year’s total of £33 million, and means the Christmas Challenge is now bigger than better-known appeals like Comic Relief and Children in Need. The campaign, which closed today, attracted over 119,000 donations from the public, with 74% of participating charities meeting or exceeding their fundraising targets and 95% of all available match funds being utilised. This amount raised is particularly notable given the ongoing impact of the cost of living crisis, which has placed additional strain on donors and charities alike. I'm seeing more and more people talking about "charity overhead", and not in a productive way. I get it -- many donors want 100% of their donation to go towards the cause. But if the organisation they choose to support isn't staffed by properly-trained, properly-motivated, and properly-paid professionals, how will the donations actually make it to those in need, efficiently? Does the "cause" not extend to those people on the front lines making a difference, daily? Genuinely curious. How can charities demonstrate that *investing in talent* may actually the best way to accomplish their longer-term objectives? And for donors, is this something you think about or do you make donations confident that the charities you support are effective stewards of the gift, trusting them to make the right decision with the money?
