🚨 Trigger Warning: For those sensitive about link building 😂 Some Digital PR professionals are in denial about their main goal: securing links. While secondary metrics can have some importance, clients are primarily concerned with the links. A recent Google leak reaffirms the significance of links. That's why we collaborate closely with SEO teams to ensure success. With over 5 years of industry experience, I deeply understand how journalists operate and how the news cycle functions. If securing links isn't your focus, you're essentially doing traditional PR, avoiding the label of link builder while still engaging in link building. #linkbuilding #PR

💡 Digital PR Tip - Journalists add links to benefit their readers, not your SEO. If you want a link adding to an article, explain to the Journalist why it would benefit the reader, e.g. here is where you can find more data and insights from the study, read more about who the expert being quoted is, etc, etc. This means doing so before the piece fades out of the news cycle, ideally within 24 hours of it going live. The longer you leave it to ask, the weaker your chances of getting a link added become. #digitalpr #digitalprtips #seo #seotips #linkbuilding #pr #outreach

Any digital PR campaign must always put the readers first and add value for the journalists, not just benefit your brand. It’s a two-way ‘transaction’.

Here’s how to build genuine relationships with journalists. 👉 Don’t jump straight to your pitch. Comment on their work, share it genuinely, and build trust over time. 👉 Journalists are clogged with pitches. Stand out by offering expert insights or data they can use — without demanding coverage. 👉 Check-in regularly with relevant updates, not just when you need something. 👉 Understand deadlines and provide what they need promptly. It builds trust faster than any pitch. — Want to dive deeper into strategic PR? Drop a comment below, let’s chat. 👇 #backlinks #SEO #digitalpr

Need top-tier publication backlinks? Well, that’s where digital PR comes in. Here’s how to do it right: 𝟭-Produce News: Develop stories that align with current conversations and hot topics—content that even journalists can’t refuse. 𝟮-Build Media Relationships: Connect with reporters and editors on social media or email. The better your reputation in their inbox, the harder it is for them to press delete. 𝟯-Create Engaging Pitches: Take your time to draft a pitch for each editor, with an attractive subject line and an interesting hook that explains why your content matters to their audience. 𝟰-Provide Proprietary Data/Insights: Share original statistics or studies that media outlets can report on, adding more value to your content. 𝟱-Respond Quickly to Queries: If the media reaches out, they expect a fast response. Being prompt can be the difference between being featured in a story or missing out. 𝟲-Follow Up Strategically: Don’t be discouraged by a “no” or silence. A polite follow-up after about a week can remind them of your pitch. 𝟳-Leverage HARO Effectively: Submit expert quotes or insights through Help a Reporter Out (HARO), which can result in mentions on high-DA publications. Outcome: High-DA backlinks everywhere! PS: What is your best Digital PR win? Share your story below 👇 #DigitalPR #Backlinks #PublicRelations #HARO #SEOtips #ContentStrategy

The death of HARO: A wake-up call for Digital PR (...and why spammy link builders are ruining everything): HARO (Help A Reporter Out) is shutting down, today, December 9th. This platform was once a goldmine for Digital PR and SEO'ers 𝗕𝘂𝘁 - spammy link builders killed it. Here's what happened: 1️⃣ HARO connected journalists with expert sources 2️⃣ It was great for getting an intro, building relationships and earning backlinks 3️⃣ Towards the end of 2022, AI Generated responses flooded the platform 4️⃣ Journalists' inboxes were overwhelmed with poor-quality content 5️⃣ HARO tried rebranding and a paywall, but the damage was done The lesson? Real Digital PR is more crucial than ever. Too many "𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗥 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀" are just glorified link building schemes. They're killing valuable platforms like HARO. And they're damaging the entire industry. Want to succeed in Digital PR? Focus on building genuine relationships. Provide thoughtful, original insights. Prioritise quality over quantity. Remember: 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗰𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀. The death of HARO is a warning. Let's learn from it.
