Throughout his career, he has worked with teams of all sizes and discovered a deep passion for improving engineering effectiveness within organizations. Over the past three years, Isaac has made significant contributions to platform and enablement teams at Xero and ANZ, where he's built developer tools, provided architectural guidance, and spent many hours pair programming. His interests span navigation, architecture, testing, developer experience, and modularization. Isaac is always eager to engage in discussions and hear about your own projects, so don't hesitate to strike up a conversation! At Devfest Auckland 2024, Isaac will delve into the world of code generation in Android. He will explore how, as software engineers, we often rely on repetitive and mundane boilerplate code, which third-party libraries like Dagger/Hilt or Room help mitigate through code generation. While code generation may initially seem like a mysterious or advanced concept, Isaac will demonstrate that it’s an accessible tool anyone can leverage to solve problems and boost productivity. In this session, Isaac will cover the fundamentals of code generation on Android, the tools you can use, and the types of problems it can solve. He’ll also share practical tips and tricks, ensuring you leave the session confident and ready to experiment with code generation in your own projects! Join us for this year's developer festival, packed with the latest tech innovations, insightful talks, hands-on workshops, and great networking opportunities.
