GC Insight’s Post

We’ve got a deal that benefits everyone: If your business hosts an energy site audit, you will gain valuable insight on your energy use – at no cost. In return, researchers will use the audit data to ensure the quality and efficacy of the National Buildings Database, which will help us reach our net zero goals. 🌱 UCL's Building Stock Lab is creating the National Buildings Database which will include every single building in Great Britain. Buildings are responsible for 30 percent of greenhouse gas emissions in the country. To reach net zero by 2050, we will have to eliminate emissions from them. 🏭 Our partner, Verco, will be conducting site visits to ensure that the data is correct and to gain insight into our daily energy use. As a host you will benefit from a visit from an experienced auditor that will result in insights that will be shared with you both during and after the audit, including: ✅ Actions you could take to improve your building’s energy efficiency ✅Guidance on any programmes and funding available to help you increase your energy efficiency and reduce your carbon emissions ✅Energy Benchmarks that will compare your building’s energy and gas performance to typical and best practice performance. The benchmark data can be used to calculate the annual savings per year you could expect if improvements were made. ✅Understanding how to ensure the accuracy of your EPC rating ✅Access to a standard IES simulation model, at no cost Your help in creating an accurate inventory of buildings in GB and how we use energy in our daily lives, will inform our nation’s energy policy moving forward.
