Done My Duty, Have You? 🗳️ Today, I proudly cast my vote for the Maharashtra Assembly Elections, fulfilling my responsibility as a citizen of this great democracy. 🇮🇳 In the last Maharashtra Assembly elections, the voter turnout was around 60.5%—a reminder that nearly 40% of eligible voices remained unheard. This is not just a statistic; it’s a call to action. Why Voting Matters: • It shapes the future of our state and country. • It gives us the right to hold our leaders accountable. • It’s the cornerstone of our democracy. Every vote counts, and every voice matters. Let’s aim for a stronger turnout this year and set an example for the next generation. Have you voted yet? If not, step out and make your voice heard. Together, we can build a better tomorrow. #DemocracyInAction #MaharashtraElections #Vote #duty #democracy #IndiaVotes

As the Lok Sabha elections conclude, the political spotlight now shifts to the next big event on the electoral calendar, the #Maharashtra state elections. The stakes are very high for the big parties, it's a battle to save name and legacy. While BJP faces the challenge of retaining power and maintaining alliances as NDA, particularly with the Shiv Sena. Their efforts to consolidate support will be crucial. I write in today's The Hindu on reforms needed to #municipalelections in India, against the background of the Supreme Court's judgement in the Chandigarh mayoral election case. There are 3 major issues that need to be resolved with respect to #municipalelections namely i) timely elections to councils ii) timely elections of mayors, deputy mayors and standing committees (incl in between council elections, where terms are < 5 yrs) and iii) voter turnout. Strengthening State Election Commissions would be necessary to accomplish these reforms. Frankly, #municipalelections matter far more directly to our lives in #cities than Lok Sabha or Vidhan Sabha elections. #citysystems #onoe Janaagraha V R Vachana Santosh Nargund Anand Iyer

Based on my current observations, it appears that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and NDA is likely to get somewhere between 280 to 300 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Despite the emotive resonance of the Ram Mandir issue, its electoral impact seems somewhat limited. Conversely, the INC appears to be capitalizing on strategic alliances, particularly with regional parties, to garner electoral support. While attributing Congress's resurgence solely to Rahul Gandhi's election campaign would be overstated, it's evident that judicious candidate selection in ticket distribution also anti-incumbency against sitting MPs is being seen as proving advantageous for INDI-Alliance. #LokSabhaElections #BJP #Congress #PoliticalAnalysis #IndianPolitics

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has used several slogans in its election campaigns over the years. Some notable ones include: 1. "Acche Din Aane Wale Hain"(Good days are coming) – This was a prominent slogan during the 2014 general elections. 2. "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" (Together with all, Development for all) – Used in the 2014 and 2019 elections to emphasize inclusive development. 3. "Modi Hai To Mumkin Hai" (If Modi is there, it is possible) – Used to promote Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. These slogans are designed to resonate with voters and highlight key aspects of the party's platform and vision. #CampainsSlogan #BJP
