If you’re an agency, the decision to adopt #programmatic #advertising often hinges on your positioning. Are you a general media player, or do you specialize in platforms like #Google Ads or #Meta? If your agency focuses solely on Google Ads, shifting to broader programmatic campaigns might require a strategic investment in new tools and training. 👉When should you choose programmatic in-house versus through consulting? Agencies have two main routes for incorporating programmatic advertising: investing in licenses and technology or outsourcing through consulting services. If you have a steady client base and are confident in the demand for programmatic services, investing upfront might be the right choice However, if only a few clients currently require programmatic and only sporadically, it might be more practical to leverage a programmatic trading partner like Programmads. This approach allows you to manage campaigns in a white-label fashion until you can justify the investment in full licenses based on increased volume and recurring demand. 👉For advertisers: should you internalize programmatic capabilities or rely on agency support? Advertisers often consider internalizing programmatic capabilities to gain better control and ownership of their data. While working with an agency offers expertise, it can limit your access to detailed data and complicate transitions between agencies. When an advertiser changes agencies, they might lose historical campaign data if the agency’s account is not fully transferable. A growing trend among advertisers is adopting a hybrid model. This involves internalizing certain programmatic functions while still collaborating with external experts. For example, a large advertiser might handle straightforward campaigns like YouTube in-house but depend on an agency for complex tasks such as dynamic creative optimizations and retargeting strategies. This model ensures that advertisers utilize both their internal expertise and external resources effectively, aligning with their strategic needs.
