What a wonderful day it has been! I spent the day with six incredible #internalcommunications leaders discussing the impact of internal communications on #ESGreporting and the role we play in bringing employees along on this journey. This is part of Chartered Institute of Public Relations 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐈 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫. Some of the themes that emerged included: 1️⃣ Leaders are still trying to understand the importance of #sustainability to their company's growth. It's part of the communications department's role to help them gain this understanding and champion this new direction. 2️⃣ Departments are still working in silos and hence don't understand how they contribute to the bigger picture. This is where the power of internal communicators comes in - to help them piece the puzzle together. 3️⃣ Internal communications are pressured to push out messages whenever leaders or stakeholders feel the need, which dilutes the impact. This is where internal communicators who understand ESG and how data is gathered can push back and explain the implications of "Campaign Vomiting" - i.e., releasing news without context or a coherent narrative and then forgetting about it. A corporate communicator's job is complex. Building and protecting their company's reputation. Counseling their CEO and executive team. Managing Wall Street and the press. Stewarding their corporate brand and narrative. Leading organizational communications to engage and inform employees. How can a N=1 or small communications team keep it all together? McKinsey's recent article, "Insights driving impact: Five themes to get right in 2024," shares critical communications themes that the firm’s leaders feel are important for communicators to focus on this year. Which focus areas are you prioritizing for your organization in 2024?

Navigating Communication in a Polarized World - I shared my perspective in an opinion piece in German magazine >kommunikationsmanager published by F.A.Z.-Institut. As polarization intensifies, driven by changes in media consumption, economic insecurities, and social shifts, the role of communication professionals becomes increasingly complex and important at the same time. 🌐 The Challenge: Polarization is deepening across issues like immigration, climate change, and social justice. This division is not just a societal challenge but a strategic concern for businesses. 📢 The Role of Communication Managers: Communication managers must continuously assess the risks and opportunities of public statements and adjust corporate messages accordingly to maintain integrity and trust. They must support business leaders to navigate consciously through the risks and opportunities in engaging with various interest groups. 👥 Employee Activism: With rising employee activism, companies are called upon to take concious decisions on societal and political issues. Remaining silent can pose as much a reputational risk as taking a clear position. 🛠️ Decision Framework: Company leaders need a systematic approach to decide when and how to engage on issues, considering the relevance to core business and stakeholder impact. We at Dynamics Group are happy to discuss how you are managing communication and stakeholder engagement and how you balance risk with the need for clear corporate positioning. #CommunicationManagement #Leadership #CorporateResponsibility #StakeholderEngagement #BusinessStrategy #CorporateAffairs #CorporateCommunications #InvestorRelations #CrisisManagement #PublicAffairs

Communications pros, let’s talk. If you’re constantly called on to "make it work" at the last minute, there’s an opportunity for growth waiting right in front of you. Moving from tactical implementation to strategic advisor doesn’t just shift how senior leaders see you, it transforms the impact you can have on your organization. Here are three signs it’s time to take your seat at the strategic table: 1️⃣ You’re often left out of initial planning discussions, only brought in to “fix” things at the last minute. 2️⃣ You feel your skills are being underutilized and you're ready to contribute more deeply. 3️⃣ You know you can do more to align communications with broader company goals. It’s time to flip the script! Share your vision, ask for a seat in those big-picture conversations, and show your colleagues and clients why your insights can drive not just results, but the RIGHT results. Are you ready to make this leap? Drop a 🔥 in the comments if you’re ready to level up from the tactical trenches to trusted advisor status in 2025! #ThinkBeyondPR #TrustedAdvisor #PRPro #CorporateCommunications
