As an I&O leader, it's crucial to understand the importance of creating an everywhere infrastructure" that can support the changing needs of your organization. This means having a flexible and scalable IT infrastructure that can adapt to new market opportunities and business requirements. When developing your IT infrastructure strategy, it's important to consider factors such as security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. By taking a holistic approach to IT infrastructure, you can ensure that your organization is well-positioned to thrive in today's rapidly evolving business landscape. #GartnerIO #Cloud #IO #ITInfrastructure
This perspective really hits home. In today’s fast-paced environment, the concept of an "everywhere infrastructure" isn’t just a strategy—it’s a necessity for any organization aiming to stay ahead. I&O leaders who can master this will be the ones transforming IT from a support function into a core driver of innovation and business growth.
I would add in “today’s” IT world the customer should have a seat at this table as well. You can’t be everywhere, critical, rapidly changing and seeking market opportunities without it, nor can you assume its embodied in the business.
Not that I disagree conceptually, but I fail to see User Experience being represented at the table. Is it shared between "Business" and "Application" persons? It is often packed into/disguised as "Service management" in other models. Not here also. Can you, pls., elaborate, Gartner?
Exceptional CEOs excel by focusing not just on leadership but also on fostering innovation and resilience within their teams. This holistic approach is key to driving long-term success.
Great advice! The infrastructure needs to be always enabler, a one step ahead. Close collaboration with dev and business is a key to achieve success.
Very good advise to avoid the key mistakes
Only Missing chair seems to be Service / Change Mangement.

2moGreat overview of the evolving IT strategy landscape. One critical element I'd add is the need for proper Product Management within Enterprise IT. As infrastructure becomes more flexible and "everywhere," having dedicated Product Managers to drive roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and align IT capabilities with business outcomes becomes essential. Modern roadmapping techniques can help IT leaders navigate the uncertainties while staying focused on delivering value. This product-centric approach complements the strategic principles outlined and can further enhance IT's ability to support rapidly changing business needs.
