Lanyard for Reconnection As I was packing for my trip back to Singapore, I saw a bunch of lanyards from the conferences and exhibitions I had attended in Jakarta. They were tucked in the corner collecting dust unused, only as a reminder that I went to those events. Such a waste of materials from the lanyard lines to the cards. Could they actually be repurposed for something useful? Here are a few ideas where organizers can redesign their lanyards for repurposing: 1) Make the line reusable as luggage tag, the event Wellbeing 2.0 did this well. 📍 The Aveiro-based OLI - SISTEMAS SANITÁRIOS, S.A., the Iberian leader in #toilet cistern production, exports 76% of its output. It strengthened its presence in France 🇫🇷 by acquiring the French company Regiplast, a financial operation worth 6.5 million euros. With an annual production of two million toilet cisterns and three million mechanisms, the Aveiro factory closed the 2023 fiscal year with revenues of 73 million euros, of which 76% were generated from exports to over 80 countries across five continents 🌍. "With this strategic acquisition, OLI aims to increase its influence in the French market 🇫🇷, which currently accounts for 8% of the company's global sales, by integrating its bathroom solutions into construction projects in the residential, hospitality, and public spaces segments," the company explains. GreenTurn, funded by the European Union's Horizon Europe programme (Grant Agreement No 101147942), brings together a wide range of 𝗲-𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽 𝘇𝗲𝗿𝗼-𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. Using design thinking approaches, the project integrates 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 to minimise e-commerce emissions and reduce traffic congestion. ALICE will support the exploitation and valorisation of the project results, through policy recommendations, external stakeholder engagement, communication and dissemination activities.
