The most anticipated event of the fall—at least for me—#LATechWeek, is almost here. This journey was not just about competing, but about growth, resilience, and pushing past every obstacle that came our way. We sacrificed sleep, wrote countless lines of code, and never gave up – each experience shaping us into the dream team that stands here today. 𝗪𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗔𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗮 🌌 – limitless in our passion and boundless in our drive! From sleepless nights to breakthrough moments, our team has poured every ounce of effort into getting here. Out of nearly 3 lakh students and over 57,000 ideas, we made it to the final round of this prestigious hackathon! It’s a dream that became reality through endless hard work and a bit of grit. 💪 Through every last-second submission, intense brainstorming session, and late-night pep talks of “we got this,” we turned our vision into something incredible. Now, we’re ready to bring everything we’ve got to the Grand Finale. This is more than a milestone – it’s proof that hard work, resilience, and teamwork can make the impossible possible. 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐚 𝐛𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 👀 Last week, I had the opportunity to organise two distinct events. Each offered its own experiences and insights. The first event, organized with Regina Overchyk, was kept intimate to foster deep connections among attendees. The second event, organised with BlackInTech Berlin and supported by Vera Kämpfer and the #ImpactHub, had fewer attendees than expected despite careful planning. As an organizer, it's common to anticipate a large crowd and feel disappointment when the turnout doesn't meet expectations. 😥 However, these moments reveal the true essence of the event. It's not about the numbers, but the quality of interactions and shared experiences! What struck me were the heartfelt messages received after the event. Attendees expressed joy and gratitude for the experience, reminding me that organizers' (or founders) perceptions and expectations often differ significantly from those of attendees (or customers). These experiences underscored a fundamental truth: 👉 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐲: Numbers may seem indicative of success, but the depth of connection and individual impact truly matter. 👉 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐊𝐞𝐲 : Feedback serves as a compass for future endeavors, highlighting strengths and opportunities for growth. 👉 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲: Each event and attendee brings a unique perspective and set of expectations. This diversity enriches the experience for everyone. 👉 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: Real connections are forged through authenticity and empathy, not through fancy setups. After all, it's not about the numbers - it's about the meaningful connections we build and the impact we create together.

What follows is some news, plus a reflection, because that’s how LinkedIn works, right?! On Wednesday 12th June Bright Evolve will be exhibiting, for one day only, at London Tech Week 💪🏻 Specifically, we’re taking our platform, Ascent, on the road, having been offered the chance as part of the Tech Nation Rising Stars programme 💥 Perspective is a funny thing. Having it, and seeing the bigger picture, is crucial! We didn’t win our regional final of the Rising Stars pitch, and I was disappointed! But, in just a few weeks so much has come from that one moment, this exhibitor spot is just the latest benefit in a list which includes: * Signed a brand new client, who saw the pitch and ticks the box of our first ClimateTech client ✅ * Gained interest in Ascent from the leader of a network of Founders, who wants to offer the platform as a member ‘perk’ 📈 * Received important, constructive feedback on how I pitch the business and the platform! 💡 My reflection is definitely to be less self-critical, and stay focused on the bigger picture!
