US presidential elections of Nov 5 have spent a staggering $15 Billion on the campaign trail so far. The leading party, under the ‘Who We Serve’ section of their website has outlined 16 demographic communities representing 76% of the population. When the 16 demographics are closely looked at, the missing 24% is that of young men. The Gender Gap has turned into a Gender Gulf with the missing demographic identifying itself as liberal or democratic has plummeted from 51% to 39% in just two election cycles. This is representative of not just the US but most developed countries and cities across the world. As outlined below, in recent decades, no group has fallen behind faster than this one. In the process of going liberal, we seem to have created a bigger gulf than bridging the gap that was existing a decade ago. #USElections #GenderStudies

On the Fearless Fund decision and the ongoing attacks against racial justice, it is a reminder to not leave politics and democracy to other folks. Elections - federal, state, local - matter. Who we choose to make the decisions that shape our lives matter. You may not have chosen social justice or social change as your purpose or work, but best believe it has chosen you. As a Black immigrant in the U.S. I am keenly aware that others fought for the freedoms I get to enjoy now. As we focus on our own success, businesses, careers, we cannot leave the work of continuing the fight for equity, justice and progress to other people. Don't despair, organize. #SocialJustice #Equity #Democracy #RacialJustice

"Don't #ManUp," #CNN tells #MaleVoters, "Cool it on the #Testosterone," and instead #Vote for #HarrisWalz, #NewYork #NewsMedia reports of #CNN's #DanaBash, "trying to reach men who are not so '#Testesterone-Laden!" Certainly an interesting #GetOutTheVote Strategy by the #DNC, the #DemocratNationalCommittee, "normalizing a #Wimp #Male" to feel comfortable" with #Kamala and "Cousin Tim." Answering the questions I've been asked, yes, as generations of #WaltzFamily members from the #LakeKonstanz area of #CentralEurope emigrated into the #MidWest, my own branch in 1790s, into the #OhioRiver Valley area, some #Waltz Family members at #Emigration Port of Entry -- back when such things mattered, and #EmigrationLaw really was observed -- had their names changed / evolved to #Voltz (given the #German W pronounced as V) and #Walz (just dropping the T). So, yes, although neither of us knows it for certain, 100s of years ago, in all likelihood, "Cousin Tim" and I had ancestors who were related. So, in common, we may be related, we are both native #MidWesterners, we're both #Democrats, we both like #Football, we're both #USArmy #Veterans who never were in #Combat (although I never claimed I carried weapons in war!)

Is anyone else stressed about a minor event coming up on November 5? Yeah, me too. And new research from our team finds that a quarter of Americans are deeply discouraged. So much so they they don’t trust government or even other people. They don’t believe the future will be better. They think immigration and crime are the biggest problems we face. These folks worry me, because when this many people are this unhappy in a country, it usually presents potential for societal breakdown and discord. But. Here’s the good news, while we are all a little worse for the wear after five years of a global pandemic, there are two data points that gives me hope: 73 percent of us think American government is in need of significant reform 65 percent of us want the political animus to chill the f- out These numbers make me think we will do the right thing on November 5. These numbers make me think hope will prevail. It will take something to make it happen—and as @jamellebouie writes in The NY Times, no one will save us but ourselves. So vote. Vote to save democracy. Vote to ensure humans prevail over billionaires. Vote to save the planet. Vote because the lives of women, LGBTQ, immigrants and vulnerable communities depend on it. Vote because we deserve better than an authoritarian mean guy at the helm. Then call three of your friends and make sure they do the same. Together, we can choose something better and kinder.

Dear Embracing Equity Community, Today marks the end of one of the most consequential elections of our lifetimes. As we prepare to cast our ballots—or reflect on our votes already cast—I want to take a moment to recognize the power of our collective voice and the values we share. Whether you’re knocking on doors, phone-banking, or simply holding space for the moment, know that Embracing Equity stands with you. In a world that can feel uncertain, one thing remains constant: our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. I’m driven by our mission to build a more just and inclusive world for our children, including my own 4-year-old daughter cheering above for our potential first female, Black and Asian-American President. What brings me hope regardless of the outcome, is this community. We are built on a shared vision that transcends any single event or outcome, and we’ll continue pushing forward, advancing equity in our institutions, classrooms, workplaces, and neighborhoods. Thank you for being part of this journey. Your voice, your values, and your efforts are needed now more than ever. If you haven’t yet voted, we encourage you to make your voice heard: https://lnkd.in/gSbN6xEq. And if you’re looking for ways to help, there are still plenty of opportunities to support voters today and tomorrow. With steadfast #solidarity and #hope, Daisy H.
