During a three-week effort, Future Vertical Cross Functional Team (FVLCFT) partnered with U.S. Army DEVCOM C5ISR Center, U.S. Army DEVCOM Aviation & Missile Center and the U.S. Army Redstone Test Center (RTC) at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida to advance Launched Effects (LE) behaviors and characteristics for the #warfighter. FVL completed Phase 3 of the advanced networking waveform characterization during the experimentation. The team collected data on multiple radios and waveforms during multi-ship flights at extended operational ranges against both contested and uncontested environments. Data gathered will be used to inform future aviation modernization; and to validate, modeling and simulation efforts. The intent was to learn about the trade space of long-range air to air; and air to ground communications. The emphasis is increased range and endurance for future LEs combined with a low probability of detection, and a low probability of jamming from perceived threats. LE surrogates successfully demonstrated teaming behaviors, characteristics, and attributes against both contested and uncontested conditions as they negotiated the test area. The Eglin experimentation is a key component of the #FVLCFT efforts to help the US Army “transform in contact,” accelerating the delivery of technology, and capabilities into the hands of our warfighters. #DeliverArmy2030 #TransformInContact Army Futures Command I PEO Aviation I U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence I U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command

Mr. Dan Bailey, Deputy Director for Future Vertical Lift-Cross Functional Team, participated alongside other Government and Industry Partners during a Launched Effects (LE) panel at the 2024 Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) Mission Solutions Summit in Denver, Colorado. The widely-attended professional forum featured attendees from Government, Industry, Academia, media and foreign partners. Topics included how the Army-wide Launched Effects requirement is a critical component of the Future UAS Army Signature Modernization Effort designed to extend the sensing and effects (lethal & non-lethal) capacity for the Warfighter. During the panel, Bailey remarked: “Launched LE will provide Tactical & Operational Commanders with a smorgasbord of capabilities across a family of platforms, payloads, mission systems, behaviors, and network capabilities. Executed via an autonomous nature and coupled with collaborative behaviors, launched effects will bring this family of systems together in a Wolfpack of systems to execute complex missions to counter an increasingly evolving and contested security environment.” Air and Ground employed Launched Effects -- and the ability to truly extend the battlefield with a forward line of sensors with survivable autonomy – are critical to sensing, extending and enabling advanced strike capability for Brigade, Division and Corps echelons. #DeliverArmy2030 #DesignArmy2040 #24Summit #AAAA US Army I United States Army Reserve I National Guard Bureau I Army Futures Command I PEO Aviation I U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command I U.S. Army DEVCOM Aviation & Missile Center I Army Special Operations Aviation Command I U.S. Army Air and Missile Defense Cross Functional Team (AMD CFT) I U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence

This stack of 62,500 punched cards was 5 MB worth and held the control program for the giant SAGE military computer network. The SAGE (Semi-Automatic Ground Environment) network was a groundbreaking air defense system developed by the U.S. Air Force during the Cold War. Operational from the late 1950s to the early 1980s, it revolutionized air defense by integrating radar data, computers, and human operators into a cohesive system. #military #defense #defence #aerospace #aviation #aircraft #aircrafts #airplane #airplanes #aviationlovers #militaryaviation #militaryaircraft #fighterjet #engineering #technology #network #computers #computer #data #radar

Effective DoD modernization comes through innovation, including the use of modern technology solutions from vendors aiming to support the mission of the Department. We're closely watching how the US Army approaches such efforts, as outlined in its Army Force Modernization whitepaper, published this week. Military platforms are more technologically advanced than ever, but our forces still use vehicles manufactured during the Cold War era. Given these advancements, only complete observability can give operators the right data to make smarter, faster decisions to ensure the readiness and resilience of their fleets. https://ow.ly/1xbx50QIy7R

Mr. Mark Mitcham, Ecosystem Integrator for the Future Vertical Lift-Cross Functional Team participated in a panel during the U.S. Army Network Technical Exchange Meeting (TEM) 12 in Philadelphia, Pa. The network is the Army’s number one transformation priority. TEM 12 provided an opportunity for Industry and Army Network Stakeholders to have a technical and operational discussion on all things Network related. Mitcham specifically spoke about the #FVLCFT effort to help with range extension and tactical networking requirements as they apply to the Aerial Tier Network Extension (ATNE). #FVLCFT is working the requirements through persistent experimentation and operational exercise integration in several Indo-Pacific opportunities. “The experimentation and demonstration of aerial tier communications capabilities with operational units has clearly shown both the improvement to the performance, reliability, and resiliency that it adds to the tactical network and the need to expand the battlefield geometry of communications into the aerial tier. The units have identified this as a game changer for their ability to communicate and significantly improve their ability to see a common operational picture of the battle space.” #DeliverArmy2030 #DesignArmy2040 #NetworkCFT #TEM12 U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command I PEO Aviation I U.S. Army DEVCOM Aviation & Missile Center I U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence I Army Futures Command I PEO C3T I U.S. Army DEVCOM C5ISR Center I US Army

SEA Wire and Cable, Inc. is proud to stock a variety of interconnect products that have received the prestigious US Army TACOM Approved designation! What Does “TACOM Approved” Mean? ⚒ Let’s break it down: TACOM, a Major Subordinate Command of the Army Materiel Command, plays a critical role in managing the Army’s ground equipment supply chain. In fact, it oversees approximately 60 percent of the Army’s total equipment. If a Soldier drives it, shoots it, wears it, or eats it, TACOM sustains it. ✅ Approval: When an item or process is labeled as “TACOM Approved,” it signifies that it has undergone rigorous evaluation, testing, and validation by TACOM. This approval ensures that the product or procedure meets the Army’s stringent standards, safety requirements, and operational needs. For example, if a piece of equipment or a specific procedure is TACOM Approved, it has been thoroughly vetted and can be confidently used by Soldiers in their missions. 🎖️ The Stamp of Quality and Reliability In summary, TACOM Approved is more than just a label—it’s a stamp of quality and reliability within the Army’s supply chain and operational framework. It signifies that the Army has meticulously reviewed and endorsed a particular item, process, or practice, ensuring its suitability for military use. At SEA Wire and Cable, Inc., we take immense pride in delivering products that meet the highest standards set by our armed forces. Our commitment to excellence drives us to provide reliable solutions that our Soldiers can depend on. 🔗 Connect with us on LinkedIn to stay updated on our latest achievements and innovations: SEA Wire and Cable, Inc.
