Australia falls in last place among 10 countries in public support for alt proteins, according to a new scorecard from Food Frontier. 🇦🇺🏛️🌱📉 According to the scorecard, the only parameters in which Australia was given a positive score were support for R&D and building regulatory frameworks for novel proteins. Food Frontier CEO Dr Simon Eassom: "Certain countries have already established themselves as global leaders in the plant-based and cultivated meat industries and are capitalising on the benefits of this. With the right government support, Australia can thrive in this sector, too and cement its own place as a leader in food and agricultural production.” Full story here: https://lnkd.in/gcYTFFup 👈 #foodinnovation #cultivatedmeat #alternativeprotein #altprotein #cellculture

Inefficient Food Supply Chains and Farmer Value Loss in Developing Regions In regions such as Africa and Southeast Asia, food supply chains often suffer from significant inefficiencies due to an overabundance of intermediaries. This layered structure extracts much of the economic value, leaving farmers with a disproportionately small share of the final market price. Such conditions dilute farmer profits, hinder reinvestment into more sustainable farming practices, and can delay payment cycles, which further strains farmers' ability to maintain and scale their operations. These supply chain inefficiencies not only increase the price consumers pay but also contribute to the volatility and inaccessibility of food in vulnerable regions. Addressing these issues requires targeted interventions, such as the development of direct-to-market platforms and digital tools that connect farmers directly with buyers, reducing intermediary layers and enhancing transparency. Policy reforms to simplify market access and investments in cooperative frameworks can further streamline supply chains, benefiting both farmers and consumers. This topic is discussed in greater detail in the attached article, which emphasizes the pressing need for resilient infrastructure and policy measures to stabilize food prices and promote equitable farmer compensation https://lnkd.in/eMcZ-r36

🐄 Regulation News in Dairy Supply Chain Management! 📢 In 2023, the UK Government rolled out ground breaking regulatory measures aimed at enhancing stability and accountability throughout the dairy supply chain. These new requirements are revolutionizing contract management, offering farmers greater empowerment and protection. This regulatory change will mean Dairies need to have a digital solution in place to adhere to the new regulation. Key highlights include: 1. Enhanced Farmer Empowerment: The regulations enable farmers to voice concerns, challenge prices, and prevent unilateral contract changes without mutual agreement, ensuring their interests are prioritized. 2. Transparency in Pricing: Dairies are now mandated to ensure transparency in pricing within their contracts. This entails providing clear explanations of the factors influencing milk prices, fostering greater trust and understanding among stakeholders. Discover more about these game-changing regulations in the UK Government's official update below. If you haven't planned for this change then please feel free to contact me directly for more details. #ContractManagement #UKGov #AgriTech #Dairy 🥛
In 2023, the UK Government implemented new regulatory requirements for contract management to establish stability and accountability across the dairy supply chain. The regulations mean farmers can easily raise concerns, challenge prices, and stop contract changes being imposed without agreement. To comply with these regulations, dairies must ensure that within their contracts, prices are transparent, and explain the factors that generate the milk prices. How the plant-based milk market is surpassing the dairy milk market🌱🥛: Plant-based milks in the United States generated 2.9 billion U.S. dollars in 2023. Whereas the dairy milk market generated 1.2 billion U.S. dollars in 2023. The efficacy of non-dairy milk as an option for individuals wanting to limit their dairy consumption has proven to be immensely valuable to a large share of consumers and begun to take earnings away from some of the major dairy players.
