I've been experimenting with a new AI platform for text-to-video generation called Dream Machine from LumaLabs. After using it for a day, I’m impressed with its capabilities. Here's a quick overview: Ease of Use: You can easily get started with their free plan. Just go to their site, lumalabs.ai, type your prompt, or upload an image, and hit send. They even provide free credits to test the platform. Integration with ChatGPT: By using ChatGPT, you can generate detailed prompts for various genres like sci-fi, fantasy, and horror. This method enhances the quality of your video outputs significantly. Quality and Variety: The platform generates five-second video clips with some impressive camera movements and visual effects. While some results are outstanding, others can be hit or miss. Comparison with Sora: Although I haven't tested Sora yet, Dream Machine stands out as one of the best text-to-video tools available right now. I’m excited to see how it compares once Sora is available. Feel free to try it out and share your results!

Part 2 of the series on artificial "intelligence" and finding a more appropriate nomenclature for the technology. In part 1, we've established that a minimum requirement for intelligence is understanding meaning. Another element of intelligence is adaptability. That is, changing strategies when necessary. Here's a little snippet where ChatGPT falls short at both. Calling chat bots like ChatGPT AI is muddling the conversation. We need a new and more appropriate name so the discussion of it's impact on work and society doesn't derail. Earlier I proposed "artificial conversation". Seeing the thread below makes me wonder if "artificial empathy", a sign of our times, might be a more appropriate name.

Claude 3 was released today. If you aren't familiar with Claude, it is a ChatGPT competitor. Anthropic, the company behind Claude 3, claims their "Opus" version of C3 will outperform GPT4 across the board. Based on my initial test, I agree. My primary use case for Generative AI Chat is messaging. So, I uploaded the Elements messaging framework documentation and prompted Claude 3 Opus to suggest ways it could be improved. Claude's initial suggestions were relevant and insightful compared to what I would expect from GPT4. And then when I shared my thoughts and asked to expand and refine the ideas, it began to shine. The ideas, suggestions, and copy it produced were a tangible improvement on our current messaging. I'm pretty excited about the potential I'm seeing here. Have you tried it?
