While labels and certifications may not be mandatory, getting them voluntarily is a great way for brands to show a definite commitment with an operational support for their approaches. This is especially true in the luxury fashion industry, where quality and environmental commitment are the last wheels on the wagon. For example, a luxury brand recently approached us to obtain the GOTS label (Global Organic Textile Standard). And what they have to gain from this is huge: - Showing their commitment to making and selling high-quality products - Standing out in a market/industry where very few use such labels and certifications - Being a step ahead by taking a voluntary approach toward strong commitments But keep in mind that choosing the right label or certification is crucial. Are you ready to take a step forward as well? If so, contact me, and we’ll plan a call to discuss your needs and project. - - - - - - - For more information on the GOTS certification and labeling https://buff.ly/4c2G1ct #Certifications #CSR #EnvironmentalCommittment #LuxuryFashion #TextileIndustry Qualith ByExpert

In today's fashion industry, sustainability has evolved from a trend to a necessity. GMS+ leads this change by partnering with manufacturers who uphold the highest global manufacturing standards. By partnering with suppliers who have valid BSCI audit, we ensure ethical and transparent conduct throughout our supply chain. This commitment ensures that our products meet high quality standards while maintaining corporate social responsibility (CSR) principles. For product compliance GMS+ is having a valid Scope Certificate for OCS, RCS, GRS, RAF and GOTS and aiming to comply even with higher standards and we are in the process to get certified for those higher product compliance standards. With that, we are demonstrating our commitment to sustainable and responsible fashion, including fair labor practices and environmental stewardship. CSR/Sustainability is always a continuous process and we are also trying to improve ourselves and striving for higher standards. From 2008 to 2024, there has been a significant 1116.67% increase in interest towards sustainable fashion. This substantial growth highlights the growing importance and awareness of sustainability in the fashion industry over the past fifteen years.

On behalf of the Working Group on Responsible Purchasing Practices (WG on RPP) announcing the opening of the consultation period for the Draft Accountability Framework for Responsible Purchasing Practices (AFRPP). The WG on RPP — comprised of Fair Wear Foundation, Ethical Trading Initiative, Etisk Handel Danmark, Bündnis für nachhaltige Textilien (Partnership for Sustainable Textiles), Solidaridad Network, Etisk handel Norge - Ethical Trade Norway, and the Fair Labor Association — in collaboration with the STTI - Sustainable Terms of Trade Initiative, has been working hard to develop a accountability framework. The draft AFRPP is designed to foster continuous improvement in purchasing practices across the garment and footwear industry, offering clear benchmarks and key performance indicators to measure progress and assess responsible purchasing practices. 📅 Consultation period: September 16 - December 16 2024 We invite all impacted industry stakeholders to share feedback. However, we strongly encourage feedback from those who will play a key role in operationalising the framework, such as regulators, multi-stakeholder initiatives (MSIs), investors, manufacturers, and retailers. Your input is vital in refining this framework ahead of its next iteration at the OECD - OCDE Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector in February 2025. Why it matters: Accountability on RPP is key to ensuring fair wages, sustainable production, better working conditions, and effective Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD). Your feedback will help shape the future of responsible purchasing and improve outcomes across the supply chain. 📥 Provide feedback: To participate please reach out to Karen Diaz (diaz@fairwear.org), who is managing the consultation for the WG on RPP (or your MSI representative), and (they) can provide you access to the Draft AFRPP and guidance to submit your written feedback. Let’s work together to create a responsible industry. We look forward to your contributions! #PurchasingPractices #HREDD #GarmentIndustry #AFRPP #ConsultationPeriod #DueDiligence #OECDForum2025

Similarities: All types of compliance aim to uphold ethical and regulatory standards. Each type involves adherence to specific regulations and practices to ensure safety, quality, and transparency. Differences: Social Compliance is focused on labor practices and ethical treatment of workers. Product Traceability Compliance is concerned with tracking and transparency throughout the supply chain. Sustainability Compliance addresses environmental impact and eco-friendly practices. Technical Compliance ensures product standards and safety in terms of performance and material use. Health and Safety Compliance is about protecting workers from hazards and ensuring a safe work environment. Each compliance type plays a unique role but together they contribute to a responsible and ethical fashion industry. #sustainability #traceability #fashion #textile #apparel #clothing #rmg #textile #sourcing #supplychain #retail #brands #trading #esg #csr #ethical #environment

FRANCE IS TAKING ACTION AGAINST FAST FASHION BRANDS The textile industry is one of the main focuses of the AGEC law. Fast fashion brands are on the radar of the country policymakers because of the affect that they have on the French textile industry and the environment. With a law proposition pending, the risks for fashion brands are higher than ever. ➡ Here's what's on the horizon for fast fashion: ▪ 5,45€ surcharge per garment (which could reach up to 10€ by 2030). ▪ Prohibition of advertising ▪ Obligation to inform consumers about the environmental impact of their garments ➡ What is the definition of fast fashion brands? France is still in the process of defining parameters, but will look at: ▪ Volume of garments produced. ▪ Turnover speed of new collections. ➡ A complementary action to the French Decree 748/2022 - The degree obliges to provide more information to consumers by: ▪ Declaring garment supply chain country of origin (from cut, make, and trim, dying, and fabric processing) ▪ Informing whether the garment releases microplastics during washing (if >50% of the material weight is synthetic fiber) ▪ Claiming recycled content: "the garment contains at least XX% of recycled fibers" ➡ How can Trimco Groups ProductDNA® help? ▪ Certificate Manager collects relevant supply chain information and validates material claims in compliance with the French regulations ▪ Digital Manager communicates required information to consumers

Thanks, Diana for sharing such an insightful post! The question of who regulates the regulators is an important one, not just in the UK, France, US, or South Asia, but across the globe. While the industry is making strides in areas such as innovation, education, and sustainability campaigns, the challenges of regulating governing bodies continue to persist. Incentivizing repair workshops and generating more leads is a great initiative, but it's crucial to learn a truly circular way of making products to tackle the challenges we face. The need of the hour is to regulate the governing bodies, so we can continue to innovate and modernize the industry while ensuring sustainability. What do you think? Let's continue the conversation and work towards creating a more sustainable future for all. #sustainability #circulareconomy #regulators #innovation #education

France has been leading the race in it’s commitment to creating transparency in their fashion supply chain. From discussion regarding digital passport, supporting repairs and paying seamstresses to encourage repairs, declaring suppliers on the care label to now its latest move in pushing legislation to penalise ultra fast-fashion products. Where are we as a country falling behind on this? Data suggests that as a country we are the biggest consumer of imported fashion, so how can we create change in our economy to support well made quality fashion? Suggestions? I will be in the presence of few law makers over the next week- so ideas are welcome! See my blog post:
