After 18 years of institutional activities at Medtronic I am pleased to announce my new position as Director of Institutional Relations at Dedalus. I thank some of my friends for sharing with me this fantastic adventure at Medtronic and working together on many very successful projects with clinicians and institutions. I am about to start this new challenge with the awareness of being in a multinational company with the highest level of competence and standards in the field of Healthcare Information Technology. Ready to start
As the great Caprotti (Esselunga) used to say "there can be some outliers, but in the end the best product wins...always", and you are one step ahead...always!
▶ Let's push further the LinkedIn announcement of new jobs…
I'm thrilled to share that I’ve started a new position as Chief of Staff at GENFIT!
"What is Genfit?" Great question, my dear LinkedIn friends:
● One of the few biotech companies in history to develop a molecule in-house and bring it all the way to market approval.
● 25 years of history, headquartered in Lille, with unique expertise in liver diseases.
● Multiple assets in the pipeline between preclinical trials and Phase 2, focusing on a rare condition: Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure (ACLF) – a critical unmet need with no current therapies.
● A proven resilience story: after a setback in Phase 3 for NASH, Genfit achieved market approval for treating primary biliary cholangitis (PBC).
● Dual listed on NASDAQ and EURONEXT.
● A highly skilled and trained management team.
"That sounds amazing! But what exactly does a Chief of Staff do?"
Well, I’d love to spill the details, but that might break confidentiality 😛
What I can share is that I’ll be one of the people connecting the dots, supporting the executive committee, and doing what I’ve loved in the last 5 years in strategy consulting: being involved in Life Sciences decision-making processes to bring solutions to patients and society.
Please find attached a nice picture from Lille with cool sunglasses.
Follow GENFIT for more insights, and I look forward to seeing you soon! ✨

One of the striking themes of the conversations I had at ISPOR last week was around the industry's heightened commitment to creative, mutually-challenging 🌟 cross-functional working 🌟. There is urgency to get this right across key activities: strategic planning, evidence generation planning, value prop development, patient support programs, and others.
Friction occurs because different teams serve different stakeholders and have different goals and KPIs - but the potential rewards for getting it right are huge.
Here is some practical guidance in relation to value proposition development
💡 Take time at the beginning of the process for each member of the cross-functional team to understand the role, remit and operating pressures of the other functions
💡 Meet frequently so that challenging conversations around the value proposition can happen directly between functions vs. within functional silos
💡 Provide opportunities to comment on cross-functional work 'agnostically’, i.e. going beyond the narrowest interpretation of responsibilities. This is likely to involve Medical Affairs and Market Access providing input on (and challenging) Commercial assumptions…and vice versa
Monte Smith, Mary Lynn Kelley, MBA, Eleonora d'Amore and I recently wrote a white paper on this topic. Lots of practical 'aha' moments inside - drawing on the wisdom of many of our colleagues, including Nandini Hadker. The link is in the comments. Thanks also to Marek R. Rombel.
Just finished a great #subregioneurope team meeting in beautiful Colmar.
As General Manager, I find the midpoint of the year critical to take stock and prepare for what’s next. Energy levels are just right: we’re excited by what we can achieve before Q2 closes; Spring has finally sprung, and we know that a well-deserved summer break is coming.
This year, we decided to focus on operational robustness as the #redthread of the meeting. When teams are clear about the “𝐰𝐡𝐲” (serving patients) and the “𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭” (access to innovative medicines), the “𝐡𝐨𝐰” will make a huge difference.
How can we get BeiGene’s innovative #medicines to #patients in a broader, faster, and more affordable way across our Region?
It was the perfect time to:
✳ 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦’𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬: we can only prepare for what’s next when we’re fully aware of what we did so far; we can learn from the less positive outcomes and replicate what we excelled at;
✳ 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐰𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐭: although objectives are not static, they are our performance compass. Are we meeting our ambitions? Can we do more? Or differently?
✳ 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐩: what’s standing between our targets and the current status? Do we need additional skills or enhancement of capabilities?
✳ 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫, 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫: each team member is the CEO of his or her role. We all know the destination and the direction of travel. It’s up to each person to chart an individual course.
A big thank you to all members of our team. I am certain that our commitment will continue to drive us towards even greater accomplishments, for patients. #cancerhasnoborders#neitherdowe#teamspirit#letsdoit
There is a widely-cited statistic that 9 out of 10 startups fail…
Well today, I'm ecstatic to say that HumanFirst is the exception to this rule.
I am beyond thrilled to finally share that HumanFirst will be joining ICON plc, the world's leading Clinical Research Organization, propelling our product and mission to a global stage.
__
On a more personal note, being at a company acquired by ICON is really a full-circle moment for me, so I thought I'd share my journey.
🏢My first job out of college was with PRA Health Sciences, a CRO acquired by ICON just minutes after I left.
🏥From PRA, I moved on to Huntsman Cancer Institute, where I coordinated breast and gynecological oncology clinical trials. I found my stride working end-to-end with patients, their medical teams, and families to coordinate every aspect of participation in a clinical research protocol. Here, amidst all the beauty and optimism that clinical research can offer, I also saw first hand the patient (and coordinator) burden of increased clinic visits and complex data collection processes involved in the implementation of research protocols. There was still so much work to be done to center the patient experience and increase trial efficiency. In the end, this role was immensely rewarding, but I knew there were other ways that I could make an impact in patient lives, and I was just getting started.
🧑💻Fast forward 6 months, I completely switched careers, learned to code, and was hired as a product engineer at HumanFirst, a series A startup poised to revolutionize patient-centered research. Here, I was able to use my industry knowledge to help build a product that would directly impact clinical research processes to improve the lives of humans inside and out of study participation.
Being on this small but mighty team — rallying around unlocking better research for all humans, faster, through enabling precision measures in research – has been the highlight of my professional life thus far. Long live the magic we made.
So today, as we announce this exciting new future for HumanFirst with ICON, I want to emphasize how beyond proud I am of what we have built and are continuing to build and know that ICON will be the perfect partner to amplify and expand our ability to accelerate patient-centered research.
I guess ICON finally caught me 😉

Big News! 7 years ago, HumanFirst was founded to help clinical researchers use the power of digital health technologies to develop better, faster, more human-centered treatments.
Today, we are thrilled to share that HumanFirst has been acquired by ICON plc and will work alongside the Mapi Research Trust to build the world’s first precision measures platform.
Through the HumanFirst + MRT combined offering, we’ll finally have a simple way to select evidence-based measures that matter - across DHTs, COAs, and more - and map them to the right tool for the job.
We are so grateful to everyone who has worked with us, supported us, and believed in us over the years, and we cannot wait to accelerate our journey and deploy our platform across ICON’s 90 locations in 45 countries!
