Chapter Ten: New Horizons, New Challenges Technoterra, now a beacon of adaptability and progress, buzzed with the energy of transformation. The alliance with NexGen Innovations, once thought improbable, had catalyzed a realm-wide movement towards unprecedented innovation. Yet, as the boundaries of possibility expanded, so too did the complexity of the challenges Technoterra faced. The fusion of Technoterra’s traditional strengths with NexGen’s technological prowess unveiled opportunities in realms previously unimagined. Together, they pioneered sustainable energy solutions, revolutionized communication networks, and laid the groundwork for an educational renaissance that promised to cultivate the next generation of innovators. However, with each leap forward, Adrian was reminded that progress is not without its pitfalls. The rapid pace of change, while exhilarating, also sowed seeds of uncertainty among some sectors of the population, wary of being left behind in the rush towards the future. Determined to ensure that no citizen of Technoterra felt abandoned on this journey, Adrian, with insights from the FRAGO22 Spartans, initiated community engagement programs. These programs were designed to bridge the digital divide, provide retraining for industries transformed by technology, and foster a culture of lifelong learning. Amidst the whirlwind of innovation, a spirit of collaboration took root. Technoterrans from all walks of life contributed ideas, resources, and expertise to the realm’s evolution. This collective effort blurred the lines between old and new, weaving a social fabric stronger and more vibrant than ever before. As Technoterra navigated these uncharted waters, a new challenge emerged on the horizon. The realm’s rapid advancements had attracted the attention of neighboring territories, sparking a mix of admiration, envy, and in some cases, rivalry. Technoterra found itself not just competing in markets but also in a broader arena of geopolitical influence. To Be Continued... In this new chapter of Technoterra’s saga, Adrian and the FRAGO22 Spartans face the task of steering the realm through the complexities of global leadership while maintaining the core values that had guided their journey thus far. As they prepare to meet these challenges, the story of Technoterra continues to unfold, a testament to the enduring power of unity, innovation, and visionary leadership. #TechnoterraEvolution #NewHorizonsTechnoterra #FRAGO22Vision #AdrianTheNavigator #NexGenCollaboration #CommunityEngagement #LifelongLearningTechnoterra #GlobalLeadershipChallenge #UnityInInnovation #TechnoterraContinues #FragoFragments

Feeling fantastic to be back on stage at a tech conference after quite some time! #EchelonX brought back memories of the many events I attended while building and running Lucep. The energy and buzz from so many innovative companies and founders is always invigorating. This time, I had the pleasure of moderating a panel on a topic close to my heart: climate tech in Asia and the opportunities and challenges it faces. A huge thank you to my panelists— Piotr, Puiyan, Nicol, and Ernest—for their candid and insightful contributions. Your openness about the sector's dynamics made the discussion genuinely enriching. Also thanks to Mohan Belani and the team from e27 (Optimatic) for giving us a platform to discuss climate tech in the region. One key takeaway was the critical importance for climate tech companies to view themselves as businesses first. Helping the planet is vital but cannot be their sole purpose. Investors are looking for solid business cases with clear opportunities for growth and returns alongside environmental impact. This underscores why telling the right story is crucial for companies, especially when raising funds from investors. It's not just about showcasing the product; it's about painting a comprehensive picture of business growth and potential returns. I've noticed that many companies often use the same pitch deck for both customers and investors without realizing that investors need a different narrative. The product is just one part of the story. Companies need to craft compelling stories that resonate with investors and bring them along on their journey. If you'd like to chat about how to refine and amplify your business story to better connect with investors, feel free to reach out or DM me. Looking forward to helping more companies tell their stories effectively.

Inspiring meet-up at Slush Earlier this week, I had the privilege of attending Slush, one of the world's premier start-up events that brings together European start-ups, world-class investors, and tech journalists. It was an absolute pleasure to mingle, converse, and learn from incredible entrepreneurs and investors. I shared the Impact Stage at Slush moderated by the brilliant Tatiana Shalalvand Kinnevik. Our panel, titled "Fuelling Climate Tech: Harnessing Diverse Capital Sources for Growth," delved into the critical topic of financing European climate tech—a pressing issue vital for enabling the innovative ideas that will drive change. With many clean-tech founders and aspiring entrepreneurs in the audience, we shared insights and some of the key things we've learnt along the way building climate tech focused businesses: 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴: Be explicit about the problem you're solving for your customers. For us Aira it's straightforward—cutting emissions and energy costs. 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴: Establish clear key milestones that you can deliver on, to strengthen your investor relations. 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁 𝗮 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹: We utilize a vertically integrated business model to maximize our value proposition, allowing us to reduce costs at every stage. Ultimately delivering value for our customers. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺: Assemble a great team from the start. Our founding team members are crucial as they shape the culture. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻-𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱: Not everything will go as planned. Test, learn, adapt, and never give up—make the necessary changes to succeed! Thank you, Slush, for the invitation. It was a brief yet energising visit, and I look forward to returning! #Aira #ClimateTech #Slush2024 #Innovation #Sustainability #Growth

Last night, something very special happened We gathered for the first of what I hope will become many events focused on embracing optimism, driving innovation, and building a better future. I want to thank everyone who attended. The event wasn't just a room full of people, it really felt like the start of something. As Keiron Roberts said it: "The general feel in the room was that it's the start of a movement rather than just a meet-up, and I can't wait for the next one." When we started thinking about this, we had hoped there were others out there who felt the same way we do about building the future. We had no idea there are so many intelligent, driven and conscientious people who really care about making the world a better place. Here’s what we believe: - Since the moon landing in 1969, innovation has stagnated. It represented a milestone in humanity’s progress to explore the physical world. Since then, most progress has been in the world of bits, not atoms. - Pre-1969, we achieved breakthroughs in energy, medicine, transport, and space exploration. Since then, despite the internet and smartphones, we’ve largely focused on small improvements rather than tackling the big problems we face as a species. - We believe breakthroughs in AI, energy, biotech, medicine, transport, and space exploration are what will move us forward, creating entirely new markets and paradigms. We also believe that movements have the power to change our society. We believe that economics, business, politics, and technological innovation are downstream of culture, and that real change starts with how people think, what they value, and what they believe is possible. Our vision: - To cultivate a culture that celebrates progress, risk-taking, and big ideas. - To make optimism the default mindset as we think about the future. - To embrace the challenges of the physical world as opportunities for growth, not limitations. - We believe we stand at the start of what may be the final technological revolution, a unique moment in history where we have the tools to cure diseases, colonise space, and extend human life. Importantly we must use these tools wisely to ensure we don’t create our own undoing. Stay tuned for the next event. We think this is the start of something special. #TechnoOptimism #MovementsMatter Thank you to Steve O'Brien Gemma Rodgers Eamonn Hynes Daniel Smith Min Bhogaita Dr Raj Kohli, MD Raj Randhawa Rich Willan Laurent Schadeck Russell Huang Reuben Duncan Avene Colgan Melinda Seckington Cécile Garaygay Lipsa Mishra Nia Dokova Marcus Maxwell-Batten Isabel Hirama ✨Toby Call Paulo José Keiron Roberts Tasso Dattenberg-Doyle Simon Hancock and too all those I didn't get a chance to speak with. Thank you to all 45 humans who came out on a rainy night in Haggerston!

We need new technology champions for Europe. That’s the message that our CEO Francesco Sciortino and other founders shared at Founders Forum Group this week. Francesco spoke about catalyzing Europe’s #deeptech revolution together with Seth Bannon of Fifty Years and Vaitea Cowan of Enapter. At Proxima, we’re growing rapidly alongside an evolving European ecosystem, working to accelerate progress toward commercial #fusionenergy. We believe the key ingredient needed is uncompromising ambition, and that a rising tide lifts all boats when it comes to scaling deep tech solutions across Europe. The future belongs to those who build it—and we’re building fast.
