Meet the management team! Next up is Erik Lund, our National Sales Manager. "I'm responsible for leading sales team and driving revenue growth while exceeding customer expectations." How long have you been at LW?: a year What’s your favorite part of your job?: Solving problems for prospects so they become customers. If you could have any superpower to make your job easier, what would it be?: Mind reading What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received (personal or professional)?: "Control what you can control" What’s one talent or hobby you have that most people don’t know about?: Juggling If you could switch roles with anyone at LW for a day, who would it be and what would you do?: Plant Supervisor – I would enjoy being around our expert craftsmen/women on a daily basis watching them create quality parts for our customers and be part of that team. If your team had a theme song, what would it be?: "Jump" by Van Halen – Because we “Jump” sales and “Jump” at the opportunity to exceed customer expectations and “Jump” at the opportunity to solve problems for prospects. We are glad to have Erik leading our sales team!

Being a committed career sales person ain’t for sissies! You take on a role representing a product or service. You allow yourself to be indoctrinated by the leaders of that company. You trust that the leaders have your best interest in mind when they force you to follow a strict, regimented, sales process. You subject yourself to lengthy training programs often with threat of dismissal if you don’t comply or succeed. You put up with arrogance and cockiness from a District Sales Manager who couldn’t make it as a sales person! You do know what DSM stands for? You work endlessly following what you have been told is a proven sales process only to find out no one wants your product or service. You watch as everyone around you resigns and goes away. Ok, this is not always the scenario, but when it is, hold your head high, take pride in your resilience and move on to the next experiment!

Meet Jeff, our Sales Representative Roadrunner would like to introduce Jeff, our talented new sales representative who joined the Roadrunner team in 2024 and has quickly become a valuable asset to the team. What was your background before joining Roadrunner? I've always worked in customer service in some capacity. At the start of my career I worked at Tony's Tyre Service as an undercar and suspension specialist. I then transitioned to Steel & Tube, where I took on the role of a chain and rigging technician and sales representative. This position allowed me to travel across New Zealand, servicing heavy lifting equipment for clients such as the Army, Air Force, Mount Ruapehu, and the Interislander. What does your role at Roadrunner involve? As a sales representative, I fly the Roadrunner flag, visiting customers and promoting the brand to potential new customers. In my first four weeks, I had already done 4,500 kilometres, connecting with customers face-to-face. I provide valuable information that would typically be sent via email and help those who don’t understand the extent of what Roadrunner can offer them. What are you looking forward to most in your role? Since Roadrunner has never had anyone in this role before, it’s a unique opportunity to make it my own. What excites me most is being able to develop a programme that, if I move on, will provide a clear process for others to follow—one that I’ve had the chance to create and establish. What attracted you to working at Roadrunner? The family-oriented atmosphere really resonated with me. Being part of a family-run business means everyone is approachable—if you have any questions, you can walk upstairs and have a conversation with the people who run the company. What do you like to do outside of work? My partner and I converted our van into a camper, and we love traveling in it. We love the comfort of driving around and having everything you need in the back. We've explored much of the North Island and have plans to adventure through the South Island next.
