You're an environmental consultant. How do you make sure your clients are satisfied with your work? ================================ When I provide them with feasible solutions to environmental problems that are easy to implement with minimal expertise and tools, low cost, and require little time to execute, and when their impact is quick and noticeable, the client does not have to frequently come back to me with recurring problems or new issues arising during the implementation process. The client feels satisfied when I do not employ a large number of specialists and experts, and my work does not disrupt the project or cause financial and time losses

An Independent Environmental Professional (IEP) plays a crucial role during Mold Remediation jobs for several key reasons: 1. The IEP serves as a neutral party in the process, acting as a safeguard for both the homeowner and the restoration company. It is essential that the homeowner hires the IEP independently to ensure fairness and accountability throughout the remediation process. 2. With their extensive experience and expertise in remediation processes, an IEP brings valuable knowledge to the table, ensuring that the job is carried out effectively and efficiently. 3. The IEP's responsibilities include collecting pre-remediation air and surface samples, evaluating water and mold damage, and creating a detailed protocol for the restoration company. This protocol outlines specific cleaning procedures, demolition requirements, disposal methods, and clearance criteria to guide the restoration process. 4. Following the remediation, the IEP conducts thorough post-remediation inspections, including visual assessments and additional surface/air sampling to verify the effectiveness of the cleanup efforts. 5. Acting as a final arbiter, the IEP ensures that the remediation meets the necessary standards. If the cleaning and samples do not meet expectations, the restoration company does not receive clearance, impacting their payment. This mechanism ensures that the restoration company is incentivized to deliver quality work. Ultimately, the IEP's role is to prioritize the interests of both the client and the restoration company, ensuring a fair and successful remediation process. Remember, hiring an IEP is a crucial step to guaranteeing a thorough and satisfactory mold remediation job. At Smith Environmental Solutions, Inc. we ensure these practices as a standard. Contact us for more information if you are in need of an IEP.

🎉 Happy Professional Engineer's Day! 🏗️🌍 Today, we celebrate the crucial role engineers play from designing infrastructure to developing cutting-edge technologies, engineers solve complex problems that impact our daily lives. Their expertise is invaluable not only in their primary fields but also in legal proceedings, where they often serve as expert witnesses, bridging the gap between technical knowledge and the courtroom. A recent case, "Addison v. Louisiana Regional Landfill Co.," perfectly illustrates this dual role. Environmental engineer Michael Corn, P.E., with over 50 years of experience, applied his expertise to a challenging landfill odor dispute. This case showcases engineers' intricate technical work when serving as expert witnesses. Corn's analysis involved emissions rate calculations, fate and effect studies, air quality modeling, and assessment of multiple pollution sources. He tackled complex challenges like analyzing wind patterns, evaluating emissions from diverse industrial facilities, interpreting air quality permits, and assessing the impact of localized emissions on surrounding areas. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dXGcsjXH While this case specifically highlights environmental engineering, it represents the broader impact of engineering expertise in legal and public policy spheres. Engineers across all disciplines - civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical, and beyond - contribute their specialized knowledge to inform critical decisions that shape our communities and industries. On this Professional Engineers Day, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all engineers. Whether you're designing the next breakthrough technology, ensuring the safety of our infrastructure, or lending your expertise in legal proceedings, your work is fundamental to our society's advancement. Thank you for your dedication to excellence and for making our world safer, more efficient, and full of possibilities. #ProfessionalEngineersDay #EngineeringImpact #InnovationDriven #ExpertWitness

DPK’s Topographic, As Built, and Environmental Easement Surveys help Environmental Consultants Achieve Regulatory Compliance, Future Property Use Data, and Contribute to Successful Land Conservation DPK Consulting was recently contracted to perform a series of topographic field and As-Built surveys at the former soft drink Plant in New York State. These surveys were crucial in documenting the completion of a remedial system installation. Additionally, DPK was tasked with preparing an Environmental Easement for two properties within the Remedial Action Area. The site, currently operating as a bottle redemption facility, presented challenges due to the high volume of bottles and cans in the facility, rendering some areas inaccessible. DPK was responsible only for the accessible areas inside and outside the site and ensuring compliance with all health and safety requirements to operate as a direct subcontractor for their environmental consulting customer. Specific Tasks: 1. Site survey with well location data 2. Post-Construction As-Built Survey 3. Environmental Easement Scope of Work: Utilizing a previous survey to establish benchmarks, DPK was assigned to produce a current monitoring and Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) wells location survey. Many wells from the prior survey were inaccessible. DPK provided horizontal and vertical positions, PVC riser data within each well, and elevation data from the center of the flush-mount casing covers of all wells. In addition to the well location survey, DPK delivered an As-Built survey encompassing the following site features: • Remediation System Container • Newly Installed Chain-Link Fence (sections and gates) • Four System Stub-Ups for Horizontal Wells • Three System Inlet Locations • Remediation System Stack NYSDEC mandated an Environmental Easement detailing the two remedial action areas. DPK's deliverable included: • Metes and Bounds Descriptions • Graphic Scale • Tax Map Section, Block, and Lot • Surveyor Boundaries • Property Assets (buildings, monuments, overlaps/encroachments) • Visible Improvements within 5 ft. of boundary lines • Natural Bodies of Water (ponds, lakes, springs, rivers) DPK's internal systems team developed AutoCAD electronic files and final maps to fulfill these requirements.
