Framing Theory and Agenda Setting Theory are the key instruments to shape the public opinion and that of the company. Framing Theory enables a company to create messaging that fits within its brand values and focuses on a more interesting story. By allowing brands to understand how audiences are reacting to a challenge, this approach turns challenges into opportunities to shape audiences’ perspectives of products, policies or even a company’s response to a crisis. On the other hand Agenda Setting Theory allows brands to promote big topics and influence what the audiences consider to be of importance. By promoting the issues to which the company’s mission and values resonate, the PR team can drive public interest and meaningful engagement to key messages.
