Unfortunately, Biden is now falling short on two key wise leadership capabilities: - Be willing to lead from any #position : While Biden led humbly from *behind* as VP during the Obama Administration, now that he is leading from the *front*, he is unwilling to let go of his crown and cede power to a more meritorious (and mentally fit) candidate in the 2024 presidential election - Demonstrate #flexible #fortitude: Biden's steely resolve and fighting spirit gave him the endurance needed to confront and win over Trump in a long and exhausting election battle in 2020. But now, Biden is struggling to "give up" with grace: as a life-long *underdog*, he fails to realize that life isn't just about fighting, but also #surrendering (which takes greater courage for a leader).

When did politics become a caricature of itself? Where have all the great leaders gone? You know, the ones who’ve actually LED their countries. The likes of: - Ronald Reagan - Margaret Thatcher - Lee Kuan Yew - Mahatma Ghandi. Do we deserve the leaders we’re left with? - Biden vs Trump? - Sunak vs Starmer? - Not forgetting Macron, of course! Are these REALLY the best options available? Have we held their feet that close to the fire? Have we lowered the barrier to entry so far that any half-assed and half-witted person can come into politics? With leaders like these, the impact is clear. We're not driving the growth of UK Limited, we get a mishmash of contradictory policies that serve the sole purpose of getting re-elected and undermine the whole essence and work ethic of the average Brit. This isn’t a party-political post. This is frustration with the WHOLE system. On a GLOBAL level, it seems. When did we agree to be led by such inept, boring, uninspiring people who lack vision, thought, charisma or even common sense? What do we need to do to get better people into politics? Carry on on this path and one thing's for sure. We’re all knackered.

What a day in politics … A lot is written already nevertheless my two cents on it as well: I feel worried, angry and in the end just sad about the results of the presidential election in the USA. As a human being I wonder how anyone can vote this degree of hatred, lies, crime and especially number of ideas to overturn democracy. With economy one of the decisive factors I as a business leader also wonder: - What is wrong with our economic system when US share prices jump up today although it is scientifically proven how much we all benefit from transnational trade and collaboration. - What will it cause for all of us if the probably most important team in the world is led without crucial success factors of high performing teams as psycholgical safety, predictability and diversity. - And last but not least, I must accept that my understanding of a „strong leader“ differs from the understanding of a lot of people. But that someone with one of the probably most fragile egos in the world can be perceived in any way as a „strong leader“  I just do not get.
