Fortescue’s Post

Why should we build a green iron industry in Australia? 🇦🇺 💡 Simple. It will build what could be Australia’s largest ever single industry, creating thousands of jobs along the way. ⏰ So, what are we waiting for?

So, Fortescue, what are you waiting for, invest your shareholders capital and start building. Or are you seeking taxpayer handouts because the reality is vastly different to the propaganda and spin? I don’t understand why if this is so great Fortescue, Hancock, BHP and Rio aren’t all clamoring to make this happen then? BTW - China has just supposedly found a way to combust iron ore to make iron that is 3600% more efficient than a BOS furnace and needs no coal. So, where does this put “green iron” then with this new technology available?

Always said tax the daylights out of raw material exports and encourage manufacturers. Companies don't do it without a stick or a carrot. Stick is better in this case.

We need full manufacturing back in Australia and Fortescue, Rio and BHP should be the driver for this with government support. Good for jobs but also giving us our own steel supply again for our lo al manufacturing companies.

Great to see diversification in the WA economy.
