Who has time to wait around for things to charge? On a mine site every second counts. With the help of a generous A$10 million grant from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and a visit from Assistant Minister Josh Wilson MP , we are powering through the development of our 6MW fast chargers that will be able to charge our future 240-tonne Liebherr T 264 battery electric trucks in just 30 minutes! These chargers will be built and tested at our Fortescue Zero facility in Perth before being sent to our Pilbara sites, with the first production charger to be deployed in late 2025. That's Real Zero in action!
Impressive progress! A 30-minute fast charge for 240-tonne trucks is groundbreaking. Generous to ARENA for helping with the A$10 million grant—A real innovation for a sustainable mining future!
How exciting! ⚡ 🔌 🤜 🤛

Impressive progress! The development of a 6MW fast charger for 240-tonne battery electric trucks is a game-changer for mining operations. Exciting to see Fortescue leading innovation toward Real Zero!
Wow! it’s amazing that soon we no longer need to rely on swapping batteries to keep battery-powered mining vehicles running, this innovation once realized will be a significant drive for mining industry adoptions
Thanks to government grants.
Good to see at least in Australia there are people who know to act instead of just talking. 👍
Far out, 30minutes. Now that's impressive. Leaps and bounds

1wWhat is becoming very interesting now with batt and solar price falling down every day, is that you do not have to believe in CO2 concentration and global warming. "its the economy, stupid" as someone said. Every liter of diesel costing 1$ in Australia with efficiency of 35%, will be replaced by 3 kWh of solar, costing 2 cents each. So for every liter avoided you are saving 94 cts. Ample room to payback the extra cost of the battery.
