Today we’re sharing real ways restaurants are serving better meat. 🥩🌎 What do we mean by 'better meat'? It’s about sourcing from farms that care about animal welfare, use regenerative farming practices and give animals the space to roam, resulting in healthier, more nutrient-rich meat. By supporting local farms that use responsible methods and buying less meat overall, we can reduce the environmental footprint of our food businesses and help protect our planet. Want to learn more? Head over to our News & Insights page to see how restaurants in our network are leading the way with better meat choices! https://lnkd.in/dtXF_M87 📸: Wahaca is taking a brilliant approach to carcass balance with their ‘Beef Gringa’ tacos. Reduce carbon footprint in agriculture? Yes, we can do that too! 🌍 In addition to animal welfare and animal health, this is one of the topics that is also very close to our hearts, because reducing the carbon footprint is possible without major investments or invasive changes. 🐷🐥🌾 Let's take as an example a farm with 60.000 broiler chickens with an approximate CO2 emission of 180kg per cycle, which means about 3kg per animal. (Data are average values published by the Federal Environment Agency) 💡 Our studies show, among other things: ✅We can improve feed conversion by at least 3.4% ✅We can reduce the use of antibiotics by up to 80% This means that we can already reduce the output per animal to 2,96 kg through improved feed conversion, and with the reduced use of medication (antibiotics), even to 2,81 kg per animal. 💪🏽 If we add further improvements such as less spillage on the slaughter line and thus a higher utilization rate, we end up with 2,79kg per animal. 🤯 This makes a total reduction in CO2 emissions per animal of 8,37% 🚀 Do you want to learn more about the potential of CO2 reduction through our products? We'd be happy to tell you more about it! ⬅️ #CO2Reduction #sustainability #corbiota #animalhealth #CO2Footprint

Did you know that FBS is often used to grow cells in traditional lab settings? 🧫 While it’s been a common practice in science, it comes with some serious issues for cultivated meat production: ❌ Animal cruelty: FBS is derived through invasive procedures on pregnant cows, leading to ethical concerns about its impact on animal welfare. ❌ Environmental impact: The production of FBS is tied to the conventional livestock industry, which significantly contributes to greenhouse gas emissions 🌍. ❌ Inconsistency: Because FBS is a natural product, its quality and composition can vary, which makes it less reliable for scaling production. ❌ High cost: It’s expensive, limiting accessibility and affordability for cultivated meat production. At Magic Valley, we never have and never will use FBS 🚫 Instead, we use cutting-edge, animal-free growth media that are consistent, ethical, and scalable, paving the way for a future where delicious meat can be grown without harming animals or the planet 🌱 #cultivatedmeat #cellculture #fbs Paul Bevan Andrew Laslett Jacob Goodwin Wendy Chua Ella Jenkins

We are excited to collaborate with Zoetis to advance sustainable solutions for animal agriculture! By combining animal health and genetic data with the capabilities of our expert team and Climate-Smart Research Facility, we aim to address key data gaps and improve animal health, efficiency, and sustainability.
We’re pleased to team up with AgNext at Colorado State University to push forward research on sustainable livestock production, bringing together insight from animal health solutions and genetic data. This collaboration is all about bridging existing gaps in data, advancing the technology and management practices that can boost the health and efficiency of cattle without compromising well-being and sustainability. Our focus? Establishing baseline measurements that will become foundational in assessing the cattle lifecycle, providing clarity on the environmental impact of cattle production. By joining forces with a leader in animal and ecosystem health research who understands producer needs to enhance the profitability of the supply chain, we’re supporting farmers and ranchers in meeting their goals to raise healthy cattle and to sustainably provide nutritious foods to meet the growing protein needs of the world's population.
