How many of you get consumed by the daily grind that you missed opportunities to make connections? I'm guilty of this. But I've been more intentional with my weekly plans and goals thanks to Crystal Lim-Lange and Rachel Lim's I am Well journal cum movement. Recently, I was made aware of Lunches with The American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (AmCham Singapore) and joined out of curiosity. It turned about to be a fruitful interactive session. Around the table are professionals from different industries and we each have different roles. Yet, it drew out insightful conversations. Simon Kahn, as AmCham Chairman of the Board shared AmCham's priorites and how firms could leverage AmCham. Nakul Asija shared about leadership trends and how there is more need for empathy. In recent years, the dynamic field of crisis leadership has garnered increased attention due to the unparalleled challenges faced by leaders globally. Rashid Toefy’s research, towards a PhD at the UCT Graduate School of Business, addresses the questions: How context influences the strategic decision-making of leaders in crisis conditions. He recently presented a gendered perspective of this study at a conference in Seville. This research aimed to elucidate the pivotal role that women in senior leadership positions played in the strategic decision-making process during crises. Drawing upon extensive qualitative interviews with female leaders worldwide, the study investigated how women navigated and influenced decision-making amidst uncertainty and change, focusing on the impact of diverse contexts such as natural disasters, pandemics, and geopolitical conflicts. Now, I’m diving into my last sprint of intense work before I transition into a slower, more intentional phase. Denmark’s next few days will be about purposeful action, including: 🔹 A workshop at REKOM Group A/S to optimize performance in experience-based leadership. 🔹 Another session at Netcompany empowering leaders with my Time Ninja program to master efficiency, focus, and energy. 🔹 A talk in Copenhagen at Westwerk UX Skills Lab High-Performance Resilience.
