I help CEOs, CFOs and Heads of Finance attract the top 1% of Executive and Senior Accountancy talent

Applying for a new accounting role can be daunting, but with the right preparation, you can boost your confidence and impress the hiring manager. Here are some tips to help you excel in your next accountant interview. Practice role-play interviews with someone acting as the interviewer. This realistic approach allows you to fine-tune your answers and identify areas that need improvement. Boost your confidence before the interview by visualizing yourself succeeding and using breathing techniques to calm your nerves. Say positive affirmations to foster a positive mindset. During the interview, maintain confident body language by sitting back in your chair with a straight back and using hand gestures to enhance your communication. Avoid excessive fidgeting or touching your hair or face. Be a great listener by nodding when the interviewer speaks and waiting for them to finish before providing your answer. Focus on building rapport rather than trying to impress with every statement. Approach the interview as a conversation to connect with the interviewer authentically. Being honest and transparent will convey confidence while trying to be someone you're not is easily noticeable.
