I had a chance to play around with the preview of GPU enabled #windows365 Cloud PC on a #NVidia A10 based instance recently that was mentioned at #msbuild. Here is a short video walkthrough of running the Phi-3 Mini model locally on a Windows11 Cloud GPU desktop accelerated on the GPU showing the e2e steps starting with setup, downloading the model weights and running the model inference in two different ways (ONNX Runtime/DirectML and GGUF/Llamafile) -- all in about 5 minutes (Video is at natural speed). That was pretty quick and simple, isn't it? Please check this out and let me know your feedback. https://lnkd.in/grFsMwKQ PS: Same steps should work on any Windows 11l local PC with a NVidia card too.

What is an "AI PC"? To be branded "Copilot+", it must have 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, and a neural processor for on-device AI tasks. Abilities include: - Inbuilt new version of Copilot Assistant for Windows; - Upgraded Windows Search to answer requests or perform tasks; - Recall feature logs every action taken with "photographic memory"; - Recall ensures privacy by processing data locally not in the cloud; - Copilot+ coaches users in real-time tasks (eg Playing Minecraft). This month around #GDC2024 we are announcing something via Oorbit that will ignite ending the 20 years of #cloudgaming and cloud app streaming failures, bad business models, high risk compute infra, millions burnt down and ideas that never came to life. Oorbit will set the first steps to build a scalable and low risk future for 3D, interactive, streamed games and apps, for any company of any size. Wether you are a cloud gaming/streaming business, a social platform, a game studio, or an individual game creator, you will infinitely benefit from this. This new piece of the puzzle will create a massive community that we envision to break up the practices and distribution methods of today's Internet store monopolies. Message me if are you curious and stay tuned for the big news! #unrealengine #unrealengine5 #ue5 #cloud #pixelstreaming #applestore #epic #linux #windows #edgecomputing #awscloud #devops #azurecloud #gcpcloud

Windows GPUs for AKS. Today we are happy to announce the public preview of Windows on AKS GPU support! This feature aims to provide customers with the options of GPU compute-intensive workloads. A few examples of where a GPU supported node would benefit workloads are video encoding, machine learning, and large simulations. Through this release we hope to increase the parity between Windows and Linux on AKS. What is it? GPU support has been accomplished by enabling Windows node pools in AKS to support GPU workloads. This release will support all AKS Windows SKUs releases. As for the GPU support, there will be NVIDIA’s CUDA and... #techcommunity #azure #microsoft https://lnkd.in/gGiPMPpP

§ To enable 3D acceleration and OpenGL/DirectX in Windows services it is necessary to assign a GPU exclusively (1 GPU per computer), for this it’s necessary to enable virtualization and hardware sharing methods. The display model for Windows applications is based on virtualization through KVM/QEMU together with a GPU access method that can be fixed or mediated. -Depending on GPU specifications, be it multi-core like the NVIDIA M60 or a single core like the NVIDIA P40, a type of virtualization should be selected, either fixed or mediated. -The use of mediated passthrough methods requires access additional NVIDIA licenses. -Through this method it is possible to visualize any type of Windows-based application with access to 3D/OpenGL/DirectX acceleration.
