🎅🏼 Who likes a B I G Christmas? I’m not talking about tons of food and expensive presents but the things that really matter - meeting up with friends and family. But big get-togethers can be tricky. Families are expanding, increasing in size every year; there might be new babies and new partners. 🛌🏼 And they’re scattered far and wide. Which means if they visit they'll need a bed for the night. So how do you get everyone together? 🧒🏼 It’s not enough to squeeze in an extra two chairs at your table, and there's a limit to how many times you can ask 20-year-old adults to sit at the ‘wee’ table with the children! One way to find space for everyone to eat and sleep is to hire a holiday cottage. The term cottage is slightly misleading as they come in all shapes and sizes from tiny one-bed apartments to six or more bed houses. 🗽 My client, Jason, lives and works in New York and rents out his large UK property which is very popular with big groups who have something to celebrate. Like many, I’m sure, this weekend was a whirlwind of Christmas activities, mainly involving my husband and me playing taxi drivers for the kids as they bounce from one Christmas party to another. Honestly, their social lives put ours to shame! On Saturday, we made our annual trip to pick out the Christmas tree—fitting that I later realised it was Small Business Saturday. For years, we’ve been getting our Christmas tree from the same place, never once thinking of going anywhere else. There’s nothing like the fresh scent of pine trees, twinkling lights and a bit of Michael Bublé to get us in the Christmas spirit!
