This week marked 5 years since my perfectly healthy mother suddenly passed away in our arms in a matter of minutes. Life has been a roller coaster since then, and not a day goes by when I don’t think of her, but what I’ve learned since then is to trust god’s plan and just keep moving. Perhaps it was part of that plan that after a special year, and despite living in Saudi for 2 years, I’d find myself working near Mecca for the first time on the anniversary of that evening. A late night visit was practically mandatory… Many use this time of year for reflection and since that day it’s impossible for me not to. If the last few years have taught me anything, it’s to enjoy both the ups and downs because only god knows what’s been written for you. With that being said, I’m grateful for both the good and the bad, and I’m more energized and fired up than ever - 2025 is going to be epic. To those getting ready for time off, and to those who are working through, I wish you a great end to 2024 and an amazing 2025. Here’s to many more ups and downs!

1dMy father passed away in 2011, and his memory, words, and image still accompany me at all times. This is the nature of life, and the hope is to be competent builders of exceptional families, maintaining a balance between spirit and body for ourselves and our children, so the legacy of our fathers, who were kind to us, continues. Moments of solitude are very important for reflection and clearing the mind from the continuous distractions of life that can divert a person from their greatest and most noble goals. Such moments of contemplation are essential to staying on the right path. As you know, there can be no ascent without descent. However, descent can generate a stronger momentum for a higher rise if a person approaches it with wisdom and rationality instead of blaming oneself or others.
